Simply perfect
Off and on, recently more off than on, my wife and I have been coming to stay here for the best part of seventeen years for a number of very good reasons and I list them in no particular order. Isabelle and Thierry are outstanding hosts. Isabelle is always there if you need her but never when you don’t, in other words she is never intrusive but always helpful and she speaks perfect English (she will not agree but she does!) Thierry is always working but when you can catch him he has a wicked sense of humour. We have always used Les Chênes as we like the layout and space and we have watched it develop over the years. Stay in the winter and you are supplied wood for the log burner although I have to say I miss the old open fire and the smell of wood smoke from the three foot long logs the fire could take. Stay in the summer and you have the wonderfully private swimming pool and separate bbq area with plenty of outside seating both in the sun and in the shade. There is a second gite, Le Pigeonnier which is completely separate and has its own, very private, swimming pool. On our last stay this was occupied yet we did not set eyes on the people at all, it is that private. The countryside around is outstanding and to our mind, the finest in all of France. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to local wines and if you like markets there is one, within driving distance, to visit every day. Shopping is no problem as are there is now a reasonable sized Carrefour in Eymet and an Intermarché just down the road a few miles on the outskirts of Miramont Eymet itself is one of the many Bastide towns and has a complete market square, many only have a part of one now but the town has changed in character quite dramatically as the local population is now 35% British and you are almost liable to hear more English spoken in the market than French. The towns restaurants cater for the English and tourist market but there are still lots of more traditionally French places to eat in the surrounding villages. For anyone looking for a holiday in this part of France they could do no better than to stay with Isabelle and Thierry in either of their outstanding gites.

Wonderful holiday
We had a fantastic 2 week holiday staying in cottage Les Chenes this summer. The cottage itself is spacious, clean, comfortable and full of character. The pool was clean and perfect in the hot weather and was enjoyed by everyone, particularly our 5 and 1 year old children! The added touch of a garden with a swing set was also much appreciated by the children who also enjoyed feeding all the animals around the farm. Isabelle and Thierry were very helpful and welcoming, the little touches on arrival were much appreciated and our 5yr old loved the tractor ride with Thierry. The location of the gite is ideal, rural and quiet but an easy trip into Eymet which has a market, night market, restaurants and supermarket. There are lots of days out, activities and walks within easy reach of the cottage. We had such a wonderful holiday that we have booked again for next year!

A wonderful gite in a tranquil setting
We had a wonderful 2-month stay at Gite Des Chenes and could not have chosen a better place to stay for its location, peace and tranquility. A well equipped and very spacious gite full of French style in a peaceful location yet only 3km from the lively bastide town of Eymet with restaurants and bars. Wonderful owners who are very welcoming and on hand only if needed. The secluded garden is interesting and enclosed, perfect if you have a dog. We enjoyed swimming and cooling off in our own private pool which is a 'must' for those hot days and very relaxing. Gite Des Chenes is in an excellent location to explore the delights of the Dordogne such as Monpazier, Sarlat and much more. Also, Bergerac and her airport are only a 20 minute drive. In every respect, we would highly recommend Gite Des Chenes for a wonderful French holiday experience.

Lovely peaceful Farmhouse.
We loved our stay here. The gite was clean, spacious and very well equipped. Isabelle and Thierry are delightful - friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our daughters had a great time getting to know all of the animals and even got to name a new born calf. Highly recommended, we would definitely stay again.

Thank you for your visit to Lauzanac farm. It was nice to share a drink with you and to know all about your possible move to France. Otto is now a beautiful calf and will very soon go outside to play with his friends in a green field ;-) Best wishes to everybody.

What a wonderful paradise away from home
Isabelle and Thierry were the most wonderful and welcoming hosts. The gite was very comfortable and spacious. Wonderful countryside setting with friendly animals as well. Our dog Helia enjoyed saying hello to all the animals each and every day, and especially Choupinette. The whole surrounding area is scenic and the people were really friendly. We travelled throughout the Dordogne, Lot-et-Garonne, Lot, Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne and Aveyron and used Eymet as a base. We shall now be moving to France and our house in the UK is on the market. What a wonderful welcome to France and the French way of life. Thank you very much Isabelle and Thierry. You will both have to come and have a drink with us when we move

We re-booked for next year before we left!
My wife and I spent the Spring of 2017 at La Ferme de Lauzanac; what can I say? Les Chenes is even better than it looks on the website and our hosts Isobelle and Thierry could not have been kinder. You have everything you need here for the perfect rural vacation - and we have never had a better holiday. We've been coming to France for a lifetime and this is the only place we've re-booked before we left. Don't miss it! (and our dog thought it was wonderful too).

The perfect holiday for a family with children of all ages
Having never had a holiday abroad as a family with 4 children aged from 8 to 14 years, I can honestly say we had a fantastic time. We especially enjoyed being able to spend time with the animals on the farm, the swimming pool, visiting the local vineyards and night markets. The accommodation was great and had everything you could want.

Vacances magiques à Lauzanac/Magic holidays to Lauzanac
Modifier This Easter fortnight we chose the Dordogne; our grandchildren were delighted and westie also ... A farm with animals, that is what we wanted ... The Oaks is ideally located, surrounded by greenery, was done for us with its large central room, its open fireplace, sitting area upstairs (chic, tv in the evening ...), its pool, swings ... Tristan is believed in Africa by discovering a "warthog" and no, it was a pig, a black Bigorre. Juliette was able to indulge his passion, care of horses and ponies with Sarah who also attended the birth of young rabbits. And there was also, care for cows and their calves, not to mention the bull, the sheep and angora goats and dogs following us during our walks. Jerry enjoyed her garden taking good to go in the pool that the kids used without retained in early spring. Although this cottage is ideally located for business, we do not come to visit but were simply to enjoy the "good time" Again thank you to Isabelle and Thierry for their warm welcome (bottle Duras was a discovery and much appreciated), and their availability and generosity (the kids still talk about their evening at the circus).

Merci so much for ce très gentil commentaire en français and in english.
