Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Perfect Peace
This the second time we’ve stayed at this villa and again we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The villa is situated in a peaceful location and perfect if you want to get away from it all. Having said that it is only a 10 minute drive to the town of Skala but a bit far to walk so a car is essential , it literally could not be any closer to the sea which is only 30 meters away and provides a wonderful backdrop of sound as you sit on the terrace with your necessary drink ! The villa itself has three bedrooms with 2 bathrooms one of them en-suite a large living room and all of the amenities you would expect. The owner is really helpful and his father Makis can’t do enough for you if you require any help or guidance. I do have mixed feelings about this review as it is so good that there’s a part of me that doesn’t want anyone else to know about it !!!

Fantastic Villa.
The position of the villa is superb.
My favourite thing was watching the sun come up over the Ionian Sea.
It is very relaxing watching the sea change colour from the large terrace.
The villa is extremely well equipped, a real home from home.
Hettie welcomed us on arrival. She is very informative .
Philip was always available to answer any queries.
This is a very special place.

OUTSTANDING
We visited Villa Alkionis for a family holiday. We arrived late at night so when we woke up and looked out it was incredible, 180 degree view of the Ionian Sea.
The villa is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The outside terraces are very spacious with comfortable sun loungers and the prettiest of Infinity pools, built in bbq and outdoor games, the owners have thought of everything you could want or need.
We ate most nights in Skala numerous restaurants to choose from and must recommend Sally’s bar for cocktails served with a smile and an abundance of popcorn !!!
The island of Kefalonia is beautiful but what made our holiday was Villa Alkionis, we will struggle to find somewhere that can offer a view like this one.
Thank you for allowing us to stay in your amazing home and I do hope we can visit again very soon.

If Carlsberg did villas ..........
If you are considering a holiday rental on Kefalonia then look no further. This is truely a 5* villa in immaculate condition, an amazing location with panoramic ocean views.
So, let's start with the owners. A local family who lovingly built the villa and ensure everything is perfect making it a completely hassle free holiday. They pop by in a very unobtrusive way to water plants and tidy the outside space but are on hand to ensure you have the best possible time.
The Vila is located between the two towns of Skala and Poros giving you easy access to both although Sakala is the bigger more touristy the port of Poros is delightful.
The infinity pool is the centre of the outside space where you can choose between a few laps or just cooling off, but a separate BBQ area will allow your inner chef to come to the fore.
Interior immaculate with a big family area fully equipped with compute and satellite t.v. So something for everyone.
Go and enjoy, relax and recharge it really is that good.

Perfect villa in an amazing location
We visited this villa ten years ago and we're excited to return, it didn't disappoint.
The villa is spacious inside and out, with table tennis, boules, darts and a large chess set to keep everyone amused. The sun loungers are the comfiest we've ever had in a villa. The infinity pool and the views are wonderful plus all the little boats passing adds extra interest. The kitchen is very well equipped. The beds were firm but comfortable. The villa lies between Skala and Poros where you can find great butchers and bakers and lots of restaurants which are all very reasonably priced. Phillip is on hand to help should you need it. We have stayed in lots of villas around the world but this is definitely the best one!!

You won't be disappointed!
My only disappointment with this villa is twofold - firstly it is already fully booked for July 2017 and secondly they have set the standard so high that I am struggling to find anything to match it.
If you want a beautiful location with no neighbours then this is perfection. We loved our week in Alkionis. As others have said the photos are a true reflection of this villa - they are. There is so much space and lots to do: darts, giant chess, a bowling game and table tennis.
The temperature of the pool was just right. We've never spent so much time in a pool. The giant binoculars came in very handy when we all saw the dolphins on our first morning and saw them again even closer on our last morning.
To sum up - I am a one-week type of holiday person. I am always keen to get home - not this year. I would have happily stayed for two weeks...we all would have. A week is not long enough at this villa and the hosts are more than accommodating, Hettie even made a delicious pie and Phillip was so patient when we had a glitch on arrival with our hire car.

Heaven on earth with views to die for.
We have had a perfect week here in Kefalonia! Wow, what a villa! We were gobsmacked from the minute we walked through the door we were greeted to a modern villa with wine, a fruit basket, chocolates and a fully stocked fridge which was thoughtful , the photographs do no justice to the natural beauty that surrounds this lovely temporary home. From the very second we enquired about our stay, Phillip and his lovely family have been amazing. We were greeted at the airport by Hettie so we didn't waste any time getting lost which was extremely helpful, the drive there was filled with surreal views of the ionian sea and it's beautiful beaches. The town of Skala and Poros are only a short drive away bursting with culture, shops, lovely restaurants and breathtaking sea views throughout. Renting a car makes it so much easier to explore the island. We were also surprised to see Phillip's lovely father after a few nights, he kindly came to ask us how our stay was going with some delicious home made cakes! There are so many more things i can say about the place but to truly discover the beauty you must find out for yourself, you won't regret it at all. We very much enjoyed our visit and it won't be long at all until we're back.

AMAZING & SUPERB!!!!
What a stunning villa this is! We booked it directly with Phillip, and he was brilliant from day one. He personally met us at the airport, guided us to his amazing villa, then showed us round everywhere. The place was spotless, and the towels and linen changed a lot more regularly than we've ever been used to! The large binoculars provided, were a Godsend, as we saw the dolphins and loggerhead turtles from the patio - and that made our holiday! Phillip's father was lovely, and cleaned the pool loads of times. He even brought his little dog Isla with him, and she's gorgeous! The outside area is enormous, and we spent nearly every evening using the barbecue and eating out there, watching the beautiful sunsets. Skala was a little too busy for our liking, but we can't recommend The Pines restaurant highly enough, and Solomos supermarket was superb. Poros was very pretty, and Sami harbour was beautiful. Argostoli was busy, but really enjoyable - even when we had the most amazing thunderstorm we'd ever seen! The beaches are all gorgeous, but our favourite was Kamenia - crystal clear water, which was very shallow for a good way out. About halfway between Mounda beach and Katelios. Fabulous butchers in Skala, that had the most delicious fillet steak for our barbi!!! We were so very sad to leave, but on our last morning, Phillip's father came again (with Isla), to give us a little gift from Phillip! Totally unexpected and very very thoughtful. What a lovely family and an absolutely stunning place. We'll definitely be back!!!

The Island offers a great variety of activities and sightseeing... Ancient sites, Medieval castles, traditional villages and elegant coast resorts. The local kitchen offers a variety of choices. Near Villa Alkionis you find activities like water sports, Spa, wine tasting, Scuba diving, horse riding as well as sport facilities.

Kefalonia is known as a holiday island for relaxation and is mostly prefered by families for tourism or yachting holidaymakers.
The area around the Villa is peaceful and isolated, however just 4 km away the town of Skala provides a lot of restaurants, bars, services and an endless sandy beach.
