About the neighbourhood
The region around Fayence is full of history. Archaeological findings belonging to the Mycenaean civilization (1600 to 1100 BC) provide evidence that the Greeks were visiting southern France in the 2nd millennium BC. This part of Provence was colonised by the Greek around 600BC until Roman occupation around 300BC.
The Roman left a large amount of buildings, wells (Still used by local farmers), temples, theaters, arena and aqueducts (some of them are still carrying water from the Alps).
Fayence is surrounded by lakes and natural wonders such as the Gorges du Verdon. The beaches and cities of the French Riviera are only 20 minutes drive away.
