About the neighbourhood
Above the banks of the picturesque River Usk. Adjoining two golf courses and a nature reserve. Secluded and peaceful but not isolated. This cottage is about 15 minutes drive from Tintern and the magnificent Wye Calley and in the opposite direction 10 minutes by car will take you to Abergavenny. pretty market town witha brilliant International Food Festival. and gateway to the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park. Usk ( 5 mins drive) is a beautiful and historic little place with a great reputation for its summer floral displays and excellent summer and winter festivals. Great range of pubs and eateries plus the unmissable Castle! . Winner of Britain in Bloom for many years even the Fish and Chip shop has hanging baskets! Whether your choice is visiting castles, Abbeys, Museums, walk...
Getting around
The most convenient way to see the area is by car . Cyclists will find attractive on and off road routes but buses are not good. There is wonderful walking and again to experience the widest variety it is best to drive in a different direction each day. That way you can walk on open mountain, gentle canal bank, ancient woodland or riverside. Hundreds and hundreds of miles of footpath await! For those who prefer to reach tourist attractions by car the main roads and even the country lanes are easy to navigate. Satnavs work well.
