Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, Dordogne, Nouvelle-Aquitaine
Le Rouquet is in the old part of Castelnaud la Chapelle. The picturesque village runs down the hillside from the medieval castle to the River Dordogne and the property lies midway between the two. It is built in the local style of honey coloured stone, has a sunny South facing aspect and wonderful views across the valley from the windows and the terrace. Le Rouquet has been renovated to form two independant holiday gites which can be rented separately or together at a discount.

The Balcony apartment sleeps up to 4 people in comfort.  It consists of a modern bright fully fitted kitchen (including oven, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, toaster and kettle) and has a log burning stove making Spring and Autumn holidays a delight.  There is plenty of room for the large dining table in the kitchen but on warm...

We had a completely wonderful stay at Le Rouquet. What a fabulous place. My mum and I stayed in the lovely balcony apartment, which has been tastefully and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The views are to die for. We spent many an hour just soaking up the atmosphere, listening to the night...

I shared this apartment with a friend, and was very impressed. The apartment balcony has great views over the countryside and is ideal for eating outside using the BBQ. The kitchen is well equipped and the loft bedroom with twin beds has a floor stand fan for cooling at night. The car park in the church square is only 2...

Thank you for your positive review and letting people know what else is in the village. Hope you will stay with us again.

The Balcony apartment sleeps up to 4 people in comfort. It consists of a modern bright fully fitted kitchen (including oven, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, toaster and kettle) and has a log burning fire making Spring and Autumn holidays a delight. There is plenty of room for the large dining table in the kitchen but on warm sunny days you will probably choose to eat outside on the sunny balcony which overlooks the valley and church below. This is extremely convenient as it is directly outside the kitchen and there is a barbecue here for your use.

Stairs from the kitchen lead up to the pretty bedroom which has twin beds and is heavily beamed with polished chestnut flooring. There is a wardrobe and chest of drawers for clothes.

Nearby Sarlat,La Roque Gageac, Beynac and Domme are outstanding examples of villages with beautiful medieval architecture and all within just a few kms. Our favourites are:-
-the garden at Marqueyssac with its unique style of topiary and marvellous views over the Dordogne valley and across to Castelnaud - we like to walk there from Le Rouquet to give the car a rest;
