Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

The Cowshed
Lovely place, secluded, very quiet and peaceful, just what was needed. Everything you needed was there. Close enough to things of interest, we visited Woodall spar and did the 617 squadron trail. We also went to the pet wood hotel for lunch. We also went to the Battle of Britain memorial flight. We also did a lot of walking with our dog.

Quiet Retreat
Absolutely perfect & very relaxing. A well laid out bungalow (CowShed) with all the essentials and extra's. What we enjoyed, was walking round this beautiful hamlet village and finding hardly any traffic on the country lanes! We could even hear owls hooting early evening. (Heaven) Many beautiful attractions nearby. For our 3 days, we went to Alford, Tattershall, Woodnall Spa, Snipe Dale & Louth. Would love to do more, but we will be back I'm sure. Thank you Jane for the lovely Plumloaf, milk, eggs & butter plus extras, much needed when we arrived, along with a cuppa tea :)

Great Holiday
Second visit to the Cowshed and well worth a visit if you’re after a quiet retreat. Just far enough away from all the hustle and bustle but close enough to visit the attractions with ease. You won’t be disappointed and we’re looking forward to visiting again soon. Great Holiday on the hottest days on record.

A lovely cottage. Amazing views
I spent 6 nights at Cowshed. It’s well equipped and decorated. There are many beautiful paintings on the wall. Its location is very convenient. You can visit the places that have Tennyson connections. Across the Bridge Road is St Margaret’s church. Set off in a Westwardly direction and you will find Tennyson’s babbling brook. And it’s near Bag Enderby. There are also many lovely footpaths around here. The scenery is absolutely amazing. People in this area are very nice. I definitely enjoyed my stay.

Fantastic
We stayed at the Cowshed for 3 nights. What a fantastic find. The cow shed is not quite a shed but a very spacious 1 bed bungilow. It was spotlessly clean and had everything required for a self catering break. We were blessed with lovely bright weather for our break. Really enjoyed sitting outside after our day of rambling around the country fields and lanes. The Lincolnshire wolds are blissful . Somersby is a splendid quiet little village where you can really unwind Loved our break in the cow shed and the outstanding location

Fabulous place to stay to explore the Licolnshire Wolds
We had a great stay at the cowshed, it was our first visit to the Lincolnshire Wolds and we could not have picked a better accomodation. The cowshed is comfortable and well equiped to support self catering (just what we wanted during covid restrictions) THe bed is huge and very comfortable with soft fluffy pillows. We had a great week and can throughly reccomend it for a quiet walking break or to explore the area.

I cannot praise this place enough!
A truly quintessential cottage set in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Great for lovely walks, ( with or without your pooch). All walks within this lovely village are well sign posted.. You do need a car to visit the neighbouring main villages..but if you're an avid walker the routes are straightforward e.g. Horncastle. The Cottage is just perfect for chilling & " recharging your batteries" decorated to an excellent standard with such an immediate homely feel with regards to the furniture & fittings..All appliances are easy to use throughout, well maintained in excellent working order & scrupulously clean. I loved the little homely touches which include a welcome pack of bread, milk &eggs. Everything was just perfect for my needs. Thank you so much Jane... I will certainly be back.. X
