Rothbury, Northumberland National Park, Northumberland, England
We would love to welcome you to our beautiful, modern self catering holiday home a stone's throw away from the River Coquet in the traditional Village of Rothbury. Built of natural sandstone by Lord Armstrong of the famous Cragside Estates in the 1870's, 'Model Buildings' features in the Village Trail as modern workers housing of it's time!

The property is deceptively spacious and comprises of a large entrance hallway with a tiled floor, perfect for those muddy walking boots or towelling down the dog after a long walk. The fitted Kitchen is light and airy with gas hob and electric oven, dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer. We have used River Neuk as our holiday home for years so you can imagine there is absolutely everything you could possibly need in the way of equipment, crockery and cutlery.

Perfect location in the heart of this beautiful market town. The river was a few steps away...a wide tarmac path runs along the river into the countryside. Great for those morning runs! Plenty of shops...bakers, butchers, pubs and cafes . Within short drive was Alnwick and Morpeth...larger towns. The coast/ beaches are amazing. The property was exceptional. Spotless well equipped...

About the neighbourhood
Known locally as the Capital of Coquetdale, the traditional Northumbrian village of Rothbury is built on a sandstone hillside. It offers an excellent range of shops, with many art galleries, tea rooms, cafes and pubs. It makes a very convenient base for fishing and for walking into the Northumberland National Park and Simonside, as well as offering less strenuous riverside walks.

Rothbury lies near the centre of rural Northumberland, 12 miles from Alnwick, 15 miles from Morpeth and 29 miles from Newcastle upon Tyne. As such it has been a local centre since the 13th century and at various times had a castle, a market and magistrate's court. Nearby Cragside House and Gardens, home to Lord Armstrong is perhaps the most famous attraction in the area.
