About the neighbourhood
The Dordogne is rightly famous for food, prehistoric art in the numerous caves, castles, and of course the gorgeous countryside and rivers. Monpazier is home to many artisans including a glass blower, potters and woodworkers, artists and more. All are happy to show you their work in progress. For walkers there are many walks through fields and lanes and cyclists come from everywhere to enjoy perfect cycling conditions. The cafes and restaurants are outstanding, and the Thursday market is a delight. In summer there are concerts in the main square, wine tastings, vintage car rallies - something for everyone.
Getting around
Monpazier is off the tourist routes and there is no public transport. Bicycle, walk or drive or just stroll around the village taking in the rich history and architecture.
