Reviewed 21 June 2014 for a stay in July 2013

Turned up unannounced, before the B&B was even finished and open, but was offered a room with no hassle. Great hospitality throughout our stay, nothing was too much trouble. As a pair of touring cyclists, the secure bike storage and load of washing was a godsend. Breakfast and packed lunch the next day, was the best we had in our...

Riberac is a typical French town with its market and traditional shops and our accomodation matched its charm perfectly. The room was beautiful, comfortable and traditionally furnished and the welcome by our hosts was extremely warm and friendly. The house and its history are very interesting and we found the whole experience really relaxing - the perfect break from our...

About the neighbourhood
Riberac hosts the largest marker in the Dordogne, every Friday morning. Set up is usually around 7am and the sunny weather usually keeps stall holders busy till well after lunchtime. The market is a cornucopia of delights, everything from delicious breads, pastries and treats to fresh fish and vegetables in the food section. You can also fine fantastic gifts to take home with you at one of the many artisanal stalls where you will find local soaps, honey, wines, hand thrown ceramics, the list is endless. In town there are several fantastic bars and cafes offering wines, cafe, chocolat chaud or refreshing panache.Live music events are held several times a week in the square in summer season and are a massive draw for tourists and locals alike.
There are many swimming lakes and man made bea...

How to get there
Airport: Bergerac: 60.0 km
Railway: Angouleme or Perigueux or Mussidan: 40.0 km
Ferry: Dieppe, Caen...Calais.....: 650.0 km
We are ideally situated on the main route from the south to the northerly ferry terminals. Making your long journey into a far more relaxed affair.

A car is essential to enjoy the full benefit of this beautiful region. You can fly to either Bergerac (50m) or Bordeaux (1h 30m) and hire a car at the airport. The roads are wide, scenic and often empty so even the jorney from Caen or Dieppe is an enjoyable one. From Dieppe or Calaise, to avoid Paris and the dreaded peripherique, head to Rouen.
