About the neighbourhood
Situated to the south of Pezenas, this ancient historical village of 2000 people has existed since Roman times.
The village is built on the edge of a volcano and is where the Herault and Thongue river come together. The old part of the village is surrounded by a dyke to stop flooding.
The Celts once lived here and the Romans built a road (Via Domitia) through the village. Within the village boundaries you will find a Roman Bridge, an early medieval corn mill and bridge, and a Benedictine Abbey.
The church in the centre of the village has been a place of pilgrimage for those passing through on the 'Santaigo de Compestilla' since those times and many of the 15th century houses still remain intact.
The village is surrounded by vineyards and it's old Celtic name of Cessero...

St Thibery is easy to walk around. There is a network of cycle paths also.
There are local bus services to larger towns; Pezenas and Agde.
In Agde there is an SNCF train station to get further afield.

By Road – either the A9 'The Sunshine Route' to Exit 34 Agde/Pezenas then follow signs direction Pezenas and after 500m take the turn off marked St Thibery.
By Air - Ryanair fly into several local airports –Beziers/Cap D'Agde – 15mins, Montpellier- 50 mins, Nimes – Ihr15mins, Perpignan – 1hr15mins, Carcassonne – 1hr15mins, Toulouse – 2hrs, Marseille 2hrs, Girona – 2hrs.
By Train – by TGV from Gare de Lyon in Paris to Agde – takes 4 hours. Then bus/taxi to St Thibery.
