House Rental
No 9 is beautiful townhouse tucked away in the corner of Plaza Almijara, the main square of Competa and focal point of the town. The house has been furnished to a very high specification and features a private courtyard plunge pool and a rooftop terrace with views sweeping down to the sea. It has a great communal dining area for getting together. It has stunning artwork throughout. The house has air conditioning in the lounge and bedrooms, which is also heating in the winter, perfect for when you don't want to light the log burner.
Throughout the house everything is designed with luxury and comfort in mind, high end bed linens and towels, Smart TV's, Wifi throughout.

Wonderful house, we can’t wait to go back
No 9 completely exceeded our expectations. The owners Nicki and Paul have done a fantastic job in making sure there is everything you need for a comfortable stay away. The interior is beautiful, the beds are comfy and we loved the carved wooden elephants. The courtyard plunge pool is an added bonus and was used a lot along with the seating area during our stay. The views from the roof are second to none and it’s the perfect spot to sunbathe and read a book.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and we really can’t think of anything to fault. We have recommended it to all our friends back home and we are really looking forward to our next stay.

No 9 Competa
We stayed at No 9 in April and had a fantastic time. The house is just off the main square in Competa and inside is tranquil, sophisticated and romantic. The decor is beautifully authentic Spanish, with a touch of a Moroccan vibe, and the pool and roof terrace are a real treat. The king sized beds, poofy towels and lovely furnishings are very luxurious. Competa is a friendly, vibrant and traditional town and we had amazing food at some lovely restaurants. The trip was very relaxing and I would highly recommend Competa and No 9.

An Andalucian gem
What a wonderful place, close to the main plaza. The rooms are beautifully presented, with top quality decor, bedding,shower rooms with everything needed for a comfortable stay. I was really impressed with the tasteful artwork, and lovely warm log burner for the chilly evenings.
The kitchen was excellent, with all you need to feel at home, and the pool area was absolutely exceptional! Such a fantastic chill out area. The roof terrace has great furniture with wonderful views of Cómpeta's church, plaza, and the sea.
Cómpeta itself had a great buzz with excellent restaurants and supermarkets on the doorstep. There is a great market at the weekend and it took less than half an hour to be at the beach. A classy and spotlessly clean place to stay, with great walking trails and other lovely smaller villages close by.

Fabulous Townhouse
Just stayed at No9 Competa for 4 nights and looks like we found a little gem. The house is perfectly located right on the square, but still feels very private on the roof terrace and in the pool courtyard. All the rooms are lovely and high quality throughout. Already thinking about booking again. The owners Paul and Nicki were great arranging our last minute booking and really helpful throughout our stay.

Beautiful accomodation
We had a wonderful time at this gorgeous property.
Competa is a lovely place to visit, Number 9 is located on the square with a range of restaurants and bars. The owners share details of their preferred restaurants (which are all amazing) and to be honest, we didn’t find a bad place - everyone is so welcoming!
The facilities in the house are perfect for a relaxing, luxury holiday with everything included that you could ever need. The owners taste is impeccable - we wanted to transport the decoration and furniture home!!
We will definitely be back. Thank you for having us x

A hidden gem
Very comfortable accomodation with attention to small details made this a pleasurable stay. Located off a vibrant main square makes a perfect base for either staying put or exploring the area. A note of caution, there are lots of steps in this property and competa is located on a hillside so your calves will get a workout!

Hello,
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a kind review. Competa being a mountain village is a little hilly, but it gives the perfect excuse to wander between the many taverna's, bars and restaurants in the area, so that life is not too strenuous.
No 9 is a typical Spanish townhouse so it does have a few floors as mentioned in our detail, next Spring our new house will be opening with the same care and attention to detail as No 9 and this will be suitable for those less mobile and unable to manage stairs.

Fabuleuse maison dans un cadre typique Andaloux
Superbe maison avec tous les équipements nécessaires pour passer d'agréables vacances. L'habitation, le village et la campagne environnante constitue un lieu magique où découverte et farniente sont de mise. Nous recommandons vivement cette location d'autant plus que Nikki et Paul ont été des plus sympathiques.

I booked No 9 for 5 nights to celebrate my friends 60th birthday. If I was a little nervous of everyone approving my choice of venue, I need not have worried. All five of us thought the townhouse was absolutely fabulous, a great place to relax in, especially the roof terrace or alternatively the pool area. The house was immaculate and offered everything we needed to make us feel at home. The location was excellent and the owners had provided lots of helpful information regarding local restaurants and interesting places to vist. It was also a welcome touch, on arrival, to discover a few grocery essentials and a much appreciated bottle of wine. We all had a fantastic time in this very stylish hidden gem and wouldn't hesitate to recommend and would love to return.

Fantastic Much needed break
We had a great trip to No 9 Cómpeta. The owners went out of there way to make sure we had a great holiday and recommended some great resturants and places to see, but as the house is so lovely, as is Cómpeta we spent much of the week relaxing and enjoying the things on our door step. We would love to go back again, and would recommend this house to friends.

A wonderful house in a perfect hilltop village
We booked 6 days in this gorgeous house just off the main square in Cómpeta. Nicki and Paul (the owners) were so helpful before and during our stay - providing everything we needed to know and some great hints and tips on restaurants/days out etc. The house itself is beautifully authentic with some fantastic local art and lots of outside spaces to relax and enjoy the weather. The views from the rooftop terrace are worth the climb to the top and you can’t beat watching the sunset with a chilled glass of wine. The beds were really comfy and the showers were powerful with plenty of hot water. The main square was a must for breakfast every morning and afternoon drinks and tapas. We found everything to be really reasonable. Our best meal was at El Pilon but all the restaurants were good. We had such a lovely stay and can’t recommend No9 Cómpeta enough.

About the neighbourhood
Cómpeta is a beautiful white washed mountain village with around 4000 inhabitants of which approximately 2500 are Spanish, the rest are from an interesting variety of nationalities.
It has a large municipal swimming pool with year round availability, a museum and lots of lovely little boutique shops. You are simply spoilt for choice with the variety and quality of restaurants, tapas bars and bars. The Geletaria is amazing
It is about 25 minutes drive from the coast into the mountains so the views are stunning. It's also only 90 minutes away from the Sierra Nevada ski resort so you really can have an all round holiday. There is plenty to browse in Cómpeta itself or it is a great base for walking, cycling or exploring further afield by car.
Getting around
Once at No. 9 you don’t need a car if you are happy to wander and explore locally, however a car is recommend to and from the airport if you want to travel further afield. Although there are regular bus services to and from the coast and into Malaga.

How to get there
It is about 55 minutes drive, east of Malaga airport. We recommend car hire and have a company that offers a friends and family discount code we can give you. It is also possible to go by train/bus. A taxi booked from Competa is about 80 euros. Parking is a short walk away, but it is possible to drive up to the house to drop your luggage.
