No 9 is beautiful townhouse tucked away in the corner of Plaza Almijara, the main square of Competa and focal point of the town. The house has been furnished to a very high specification and features a private courtyard plunge pool and a rooftop terrace with views sweeping down to the sea. It has a great communal dining area for getting together. It has stunning artwork throughout. The house has air conditioning in the lounge and bedrooms, which is also heating in the winter, perfect for when you don't want to light the log burner.
Throughout the house everything is designed with luxury and comfort in mind, high end bed linens and towels, Smart TV's, Wifi throughout.

We had an amazing time at No 9. The location of the property is excellent just off the main square in the centre of the village. The house is beautiful and has everything you could want for a perfect stay. The Welcome Pack was great and we loved the Lemon Drizzle cake. The communication from the owners was fantastic. We would highly recommend Competa and No 9.

No 9 is an amazing property, beatifully restored and very tastefully decorated, loved it!
Competa itself was lovely has everything you need and is a taste of real Spain. Locals very friendly, fab bakeries and shops selling great quality products. Brilliant choice of restaurants we were spoilt for choice and had 3 on the doorstep that were all great.
No 9 was in a brilliant position for everything and is just a fabulous property. Very clean and comforable and had everything you could possibly need. Loved the sun terrace and the welcome pack was very generous.

We had an amazing time at No 9. The location is excellent, we absolutely loved the village and its wonderful food and atmosphere. The house is so beautiful, with every detail thought of! Communications and attention to detail from the hosts were exemplary, we can't wait to visit again!

Fabulous Accomodation
Stayed at No9 and exceeded expectations, fab accommodation and location is spot on, very close walking distance to plenty of great bars and restaurants. A very generous welcome pack which was much appreciated. We loved Competa and the hosts were very flexible with changes due to covid. Would highly recommend and will definitely return. Wir haben einen wunderschönen Urlaub dort verbracht. Die Lage ist sehr zentral, man hat 4 Restaurants mit Aussenbereich sowie einen Supermarkt im Umkreis von 100 Metern. Im Haus hat man alles was man braucht um sich wohl zu fühlen. Am Pool im Innenhof mit Sitzgruppe kann man es auch bei grosser Hitze gut aushalten. Man hat dort auch eine Dusche und Toilette. Die Küche ist mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht. Das Wohnzimmer in der 1.Etage ist sehr gemütlich. Die Schlafzimmer, hervorragende Betten, in der 2. und 3. Etage haben jeweils ein eigenes Badezimmer mit Regendusche und verstellbarem Duschkopf. Auf der Dachterrasse hat man Lounge Möbel,Sonnenschirm,Liegen, Kühlschrank und einen gemauerten Grill. Man hat von dort eine wunderschöne Aussicht auf Competa und die umliegenden Berge. Bei klarem Wetter kann man bis zum Meer schauen. Alles in allem haben wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Kommunikation mit Nicki und Paul, der Check in,Willkommenspaket mit Getränken, Brot, Wurst Käse etc, alles 1.Klasse. Für uns ist das Haus absolut empfehlenswert. Sollten wir nochmal nach Competa kommen würden wir es auf jeden Fall wieder nehmen. Danke für einen tollen Aufenthalt!!!!

Wonderful Experience
I agreed upon renting No 9 for a long term early this year. COVID-19 unfortunately changed my plans, to put it mildly. Nicky and Paul were very willing to find a solution and I am very grateful for their friendliness and flexibility. After all, that is what keeps people connected. I know Competa for over a decade and I am thrilled by the energy of this beautiful village. No 9 is situated on the best square of the town and I look forward staying there in the very near future. Fabulous house and location
We were very lucky to stay in NO9 which offered everything and more that anyone would need from a holiday property. The list is endless, every room was wonderfully presented and the roof terrace and views were spectacular! The location, just off the main square, and close to restaurants and bars was so convenient. The only problem we had was that 4 days after we arrived,Spain went into lockdown because of Covid 19, so we were unable to explore Competa as we would have liked. The upside was that we had a beautiful house in which to isolate! During that time Nikki & Paul were extremely supportive and kept us updated on the situation Thanks once again to you both.

On cloud 9 staying at No 9.
What a place to stay, its brilliant. This is the best villa/home we have stayed in over the years. We booked last year and were so disappointed with the whole Covid-19 situation, as we didn't think we'd make it. We didn't make the final decision to travel until two days before we were due to leave the UK. Nicki was so understanding and she agreed not to take the final payment until the day we decided we were definitely going. For me that is breath taking service, especially when she must have been under pressures of her own.
The home is great. As soon as we walked in the door we knew we would love this place and that we would come back. My wife is very house proud and travels with cleaning wipes in the suitcase. No one can relax or unpack until she has given the place a once over. At no9 there is no need, its spotless.
There is plenty of space throughout the house and the kitchen is well stocked of equipment if you want to make something to eat. We only made breakfasts and a few afternoon snacks. The rest of the time we spent eating out.
We were worried how open Competa would be in the covid climate. There was no need to worry. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. We ate out every night, except one, when we had a take out fish and chips from Grandads chippie.
The setting is spectacular and matches the house. Competa and the surrounding area is beautiful. We loved coming home at night after a meal and few drinks and sitting on the roof. We had a few more drinks and looked up at the stars, listening to the faint chatter of atmosphere from the restaurants in the square. It was bliss. I wish I was back there now.
Ohh and a final mention to the beds and the showers. They are fab.

Flawless Service
We are yet to stay in this beautiful townhouse and due to COVID-19, we will not be able to stay there this May as originally planned. The reason for my review is that whilst things are challenging for all of us right now, Nicki and Paul couldn't have been more supportive and helpful in allowing us to move our planned holiday to an alternative date. Their service was second to none. I'm really looking forward to seeing Competa in a years time and I wish Nicki and Paul every success with maintaining their wonderful business during these challenging times.

Lovely village house
No 9 is in a great spot to enjoy village life, with shops and restaurants on the door step. The house has been very tastefully renovated and is well equipped. The great showers (best we've experienced in Spain!) and sunny roof terrace stand out particularly.

Cómpeta is a beautiful white washed mountain village with around 4000 inhabitants of which approximately 2500 are Spanish, the rest are from an interesting variety of nationalities.
It has a large municipal swimming pool with year round availability, a museum and lots of lovely little boutique shops. You are simply spoilt for choice with the variety and quality of restaurants, tapas bars and bars. The Geletaria is amazing
It is about 25 minutes drive from the coast into the mountains so the views are stunning. It's also only 90 minutes away from the Sierra Nevada ski resort so you really can have an all round holiday. There is plenty to browse in Cómpeta itself or it is a great base for walking, cycling or exploring further afield by car.
Getting around
Once at No. 9 you don’t need a car if you are happy to wander and explore locally, however a car is recommend to and from the airport if you want to travel further afield. Although there are regular bus services to and from the coast and into Malaga.

It is about 55 minutes drive, east of Malaga airport. We recommend car hire and have a company that offers a friends and family discount code we can give you. It is also possible to go by train/bus. A taxi booked from Competa is about 80 euros. Parking is a short walk away, but it is possible to drive up to the house to drop your luggage.
