We have booked this accommodation through Airbnb after I found their price was some US$ 36 cheaper than other comparable booking sites. We had booked this accommodation, before we went on a 10 day safari. The lodge is certainly not located at Momela Rd at Usa River. Coming from the airport, we were driven on a dirt road to the left off Momela Road for at least some 10 minutes, before we reached our accommodation. It was pitch dark, when we arrived. So we don’t know where we ended up. We were accommodated in a sort of rondavel or an African-style hut. While the bedroom, ex-cept for the mosquito netting that could not be lowered, was half way okay, the bathroom was awful. There were no floor tiles, only the bare concrete. The toilet was more like a potty for young children who cannot yet use a toilet. You had to sit down so low, that it was almost impossible to get up again. The seat was not fixed to the toilet at all and it always came off. The shower and the toilet resembled in no way what was advertised on Airbnb. We were under the impression that we not taken to the location advertised by Airbnb and on other websites. Our room did not contain any seating area. Where we have been there was no dining room whatsoever. There was no reception area either. We had dinner and breakfast in an open shed on a concreted floor. We not were served a breakfast buffet, but a set breakfast only. There were no mountain views. For airport pick-up, we were charged US$ 40 for an age old clunker. When we left the airport, our host and his driver complained that they had to wait for us for a long time, although our plane from Nairobi had landed early. That customs and immigration procedures took some time, was certainly not our fault. We paid US$ 50 for the pick-up, and expected a change of US$ 10 or at least the equivalent in TZS (Tanzanian Shillings). But our host conveniently forgot until we reminded him the following day. Check-out times were not disclosed by Airbnb, but on other websites check-out was specified to be from 07:00 to 17:00. Yet at about 09:30, our host instructed our tour operator to pick us up immediately. We were only allowed finish our coffee.
