About the neighbourhood
Vijon is where the Centre Val de Loire meets the Limousin and the Indre meets the Creuse. Very rural with beautiful countryside. Quiet roads and lanes ideal for cycling and walking (with many signposted routes around Vijon itself). The area is famous for its lakes and the area of 'Les trois lacs' is not very far away. Sidiailles is only 20 minutes away with its large lake for swimming, watersports, tree adventure and zipwires. Further afield you will find historic churches, chateaux and areas of natural beauty. The peace and quiet means that the area is wonderful for bird-watching and with no light pollution the night-sky is superb!
Getting around
A car is essential for holidaying in rural France. There is little or no public transport in the immediate area. There are taxis but these can be expensive. The area is fantastic for cycling and for walking so to get out and about get into the car, find a good spot and then get out and enjoy.
