Holiday Rental House
A private, secluded holiday cottage set at the foot of the Preseli Hills in Pembrokeshire. Danclawdd was converted in 2013 from a stone built Welsh longhouse; a longhouse was a traditional one-roomed property usually on a farm and this one dates back to approx 17th century. We are five minutes walk from the National Park and a gateway to a myriad of walks across the Preseli Hills including the highest point in the county. Spot Ireland and Snowdon on a clear day! You can also access, with the use of a car, the coastal path in the north or south of the county and enjoy the amazing vistas that Pembrokeshire brings at every turn. The totally self-contained accommodation is located in the grounds of the owners' Welsh stone cottage and has a bright, airy cooking/dining/living space complete with Swedish log burner for chillier evenings. There will be a basket of logs to start you off then we can offer further bags for a small fee or they can be bought at the village shop. There is a spacious bedroom with king sized bed and a bathroom with thermostatically controlled shower. All linen is provided apart from beach towels. We also offer oil fired central heating, free wi-fi and a supply of sundries to get you started on your holiday. The cottage has a washing machine, dishwasher, cooker/hob, microwave, nespresso machine, kettle, toaster and a full range of crockery and cooking utensils. It is all located on one level so is very easily accessible. More

About the neighbourhood
At the bottom of our driveway is a path that leads you directly into the Pembrokeshire National Park and up into the Preseli Hills. The hills are fantastic for walking, but also for fell running (events take place each year), mountain biking and horse riding. The highest point in Pembrokeshire can be reached on foot from the cottage and offers stunning views and chance for sunset or sunrise photography options. There is a massive diversity of wildlife, birds and flora & fauna within the hills and the surrounding area. You can strike out to the north or south coastline from us and explore the coves and cliffs. We also have many heritage sites such as Carew Castle, Pembroke Castle and National Trust areas of conservation.
Getting around
We are secluded and therefore a car is pretty essential to access all that the surrounding area has to offer. We are located down a country track and vehicles with very low suspension may find it challenging! Standard cars and vans are all fine - ask if you're not sure!
