This detached, stone-built cottage is located near the bustling town of Dumfries and can sleep six people in three bedrooms.Glen View is a traditional, detached cottage nestled deep within Scottish countryside accessed via a rural track, yet within driving distance to the town of Dumfries. It comprises three bedrooms; a king-size double, a ground floor king-size double and a ground floor twin, sleeping six people. There is also a shower room, ground floor bathroom, an open-plan living room with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburning stove, plus a utility and conservatory. Outside there are extensive grounds surrounding the property with lawns, seating areas and an unfenced pond, as well as ample off-road parking. Electric oven and hob, 2 x fridges, freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine, washing machine, tumble dryer, TV, WiFi, selection of books and games. Fuel, power and starter pack for fire/stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Travel cot and highchair available. Large gardens with lawned areas, seating areas and an unfenced pond. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 12.7 miles. Note: There is an unfenced pond at this property, children will need to be supervised at all times. Note: No stag/hen or similar parties. Note: The track which leads and joins the driveway to the property, this is an uneven track with the occasional potholes. There is also superficial flooding which may occur during winter months. Note: This track is not owned by the owner. Region: From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam. Town: Dumfries is a market town and former royal burgh in south west Scotland. It is a bustling town with plenty of amenities and attractions to be enjoyed. Its location makes it ideal for exploring the coastline with its sandy beaches and rocky inlets to the Galloway Hills. Visit Caerlaverock Castle and Nature Reserve or if staying during the summer you can check out the excitement at the notable Scottish Rally.

Lovely but becoming expensive (probably Sykes)
On arrival we were very impressed with the cottage. the interior was first class with everything we needed, spotlessly clean. This was much appreciated as we know extra cleaning is necessary due to covid. As we are keen photographers it was a joy to see the Deer, Squirrels and other Wildlife. Our Dog enjoyed the walks off the lead which makes the holiday even more worthwhile. We seriously considered a re-visit until we saw that the quoted prices for next year have increased by over 55% which even given extra cleaning costs due to covid is quite a hike to say the least. As things return to something like normality this will price places out of the market. Yes it's a great location with good facilities but getting expensive by comparison. Tesco do deliver to the door but be prepared to meet them at the School House and marshall them in. That all said many thanks for the use of your lovely cottage.
