Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Great Location
We only needed a place to sleep, make breakfast and put restaurant leftovers. This place was perfect. The location is nice with the Mangrove Beach, Manglillo Chiquito, right around the corner. You can put chairs in the water and read, chill and get some sun. The location of the house was in a nice local, quiet neighborhood. Roosters woke us each morning which we enjoyed, some won't. Each bedroom had air conditioning and comfortable beds. The house does need some updates but if you are only there to sleep, as we were, it works. The front porch is a nice place for breakfast or cervezas in the evening. The back porch has the washer and plenty of clothes lines since the dryer doesn't work. Look to see if there is laundry soap because we bought some and there was some at the house. As stated above, at this time, the dryer didn't work nor did the television for local channels. That was fine with us. There is an area in the front of the house which is perfect for a dog. Restaurants - Unami is close by and has a nice menu. Make a reservation. El Divorcio in Sabana Grande has a great menu with very very generous plates, especially the burgers.

Awesome Times!
We had a great time at Casita el Paraíso! Will do it again soon! Checked in 6/27, met Joe and his son, good people! The house was clean and all we needed was there; linens, cooking utensils, two refrigerators! BBQ, coolers. The outdoor area was ample, all covered, nice out door furniture. Two bedrooms in first floor have AC and full bathrooms, big second floor sleeping room; king size bed and 3 twin beds and full bath, only downer, no AC upstairs but plenty of fans. The house is old and needs a little bit of tender loving care, mainly paint, but don’t get me wrong, it is an awesome place! Nice neighborhood, walking distance to 3 great beaches, Playa Santa Rocks! splecialy on the 4th of July! I have a saying; you make your home wherever you go, and Casita el Praiso was our home for 9 days! Thank you Joe and Mr Machua! Will do it again soon! Ps, the photo is our front porch view!

Average Puerto Rican House
Within a 5 minute walk to Playa Santa and other beaches. Far enough away to be peaceful at night. Location was very good. Joe, the keeper and his family were tremendously helpful and attentive. The house itself is an average puerto rican style home. My only suggestion would be to offer wifi if possible.

outdated style
Outside of home was lovely and the beach is in walking distant. Inside the home felt as if someone still live there. Personal items were still in the home, furniture, kitchen and bathroom can use a makeover.

Mary -- Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and glad you enjoyed your visit. I can assure you that no one lives in the house -- any personal items (spices in the kitchen, beach toys, books/games/videos, high chair, crib, etc.) were left there by us for guest's potential use. House is rustic and old-school for sure -- makeovers certainly on our long-term to-do list, but we try to factor that in to the price in the meantime.

My experience at Casita El Paraiso
The place is really nice, the beach is like 4 or 5 minutes walk and you can choose 3 different beaches, the house is very comfortable first floor you have 2 bedrooms with air conditioning, living and kitchen area need upgrade, is not air conditioning and it gets really hot there, also need tv upgrade, is only couple of local channels, and is only one tv in the whole house, also no wifi, and is one big bedroom with bath on second floor but is no air conditioning in that bedroom, all rooms have electric fan, that help some. Overall we had a great time, the owner was very helpful and Joe and his family super nice ppl, but definitely I will come back, I show pictures of the house to families and friends, they all ask me for the phone # to contact owner so they can make reservations.

Israel -- thank you for your review, and very glad you enjoyed your visit. No question the location is the best feature of the house -- so close to the beaches -- it's why we fell in love with Casita El Paraiso for us and our little (now big) boys. We will definitely keep making improvements to the house, with more AC units and kitchen/living room upgrades high on our list. Thank you again, and look forward to having you, family and friends visit Casita El Paraiso.

About the neighbourhood
The Space You will not find many places that so truly reflect the true Puerto Rican beach town vibe -- a little gritty, a little old school, and amazing for the natural beauty and old world Latin charm. The house will comfortably fit 8, with one master bedroom, one kids room with bunk beds and a pull out bed, and a separate upstairs suite accessed by an exterior stairway that has a king bed, several cots and a separate bathroom. Lots of outdoor patio space, internal living space is small, but you should be outside enjoying the weather! Perfect for one large family or two families with a couple kids each. Guest Access Three beaches within a 5 minute walk (and that's beach walking, not city "walking"), great local gems, but also McDonalds, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Chili's and mainland style grocery stores within a short drive. Two malls, the cities of Ponce (museums, the Don Q mansion, the famous firehouse, etc.) and Mayaguez (the zoo, the university, etc.), surfing in Rincon, fishing and relaxing on Gilligan's Island, the colonial village of San German, the Guanica Dry forest preserve, coffee farms, native ruins, Arrecibo, golf, casinos and many other attractions within. 30-40 minute drive. Interaction with Guests We live in Boston, accessible by phone/text/email, but have a great caretaker to welcome you to the house and be nearby for any issue. The Neighborhood Three beaches a walking distance from the house, and some food windows a short walk away, and lots of nearby restaurants, gas stations, and stores a short drive away. It's a small beach town so most things get quiet early, though there is a pool hall down the street if you are adventurous. Getting Around No real public transport. Need a rental car. Other Things to Note The house is rustic -- no phone, AC only in the two first floor bedrooms (nice breeze in the upstairs bedroom), three bathrooms in old-school lovely neon pastel colors, tv and vcr/dvd player with no cable. You can pull a solid cell phone connection, but hopefully you are looking to disconnect. It's a get-away designed to get away, not stay connected to work or your favorite tv shows.
