Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

First Class Accommodation
This is our second visit to this lovely cottage, which speaks for itself. Exceptionally well cared for accommodation with all necessery facilities available for a very comfortable stay. Ideally located in Warrenpoint within easy walking distance of the town centre and very close proximity to Carlingford Lough waterfront. This is a very convenient location to stay for visiting The Mournes, Carlingford and Ring of Gullion and only 7.5 miles from Newry City. The owners, Norman and Rachel are very hospitable and helpful making us feel very welcome throughout our 2-week stay.

Exceptional
A very well equipped and comfortable cottage, kept in exceptional condition. The owners are very hospitable and welcoming. Cottage in convenient location within Warrenpoint, a very short walk to Carlingford Lough shoreline and within easy walking distance to town centre and shops. Good location to stay for visiting the Mourne's, the Ring of Gullion, Newry, Carlingford and Cooley Peninsula. We had a very happy and enjoyable 2-week stay here and would definitely stay here again.

Great, well equipped cottage in prime location for exploring the local area.
Just spent a wonderful week at Cedar Cottage. Very comfortable with everything you need and more for self catering. Lovely welcome pack on arrival including home made cakes, milk, bread and eggs, was a brilliant surprise, especially as we arrived on Sunday evening. Lots of helpful information and leaflets provided on the local area and attractions. Cottage was very clean and well presented by the hosts Norman and Rachel. Dressing gowns and slippers were a nice touch and not usual in self catering. Nearby bars and restaurants all within easy walking distance. Have no hesitation in recommending this cottage.

Stunning property in beautiful location
My partner and I had a fantastic stay at Cedar Cottage in August whilst visiting my son. The pictures online did not disappoint and we were amazed at the attention to detail in the cottage. Every eventuality was catered for, I even found birthday candles in one of the drawers. The location is stunning, five minutes from the lough with stunning views and good restaurants nearby and approx 50 minutes to Belfast by car with a visit to the Titanic Museum a must see. The hospitality shown by Norman and Rachel was amazing as upon booking I enquired about a BBQ and was advised that I could use a portable one in the garden. When we arrived, there was a brand new one in the shed for our use, these details make all the difference and we have already booked to come back in October which we are looking forward to.

Very comfortable and well equipped cottage
Stayed here for the weekend commencing 2 July 2021. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, well equipped with comfortable beds. The helpfully owners had left a welcome package of milk, bread and cupcakes and the kitchen and bathrooms were well supplies with towels and all the essentials. We were very impressed with everything and will be recommending the accommodation to our friends. The owners have done a good job decorating and equipping the cottage which even had an electric blanked on the double bed and robes and slippers for the use of guests. The garden furniture included a table and chairs + 2 deck chairs and an unused barbecue with a supply of charcoal.

About the neighbourhood
Warrenpoint sits at the southern approach to the Mournes and at the point where the Clanrye River and Newry Canal open into Carlingford Lough. There was no town of Warrenpoint up until the beginning of the 19th century. The town was planned and built on a grid system by the landlords in Narrow Water. The square is one of the largest in Ireland and saw many 'fair days' up until the late 1950s. The town came to prominence in the early 19th century, first as an outport for Newry, developing a thriving timber trade with North America and Canada. By the mid 1800s Warrenpoint had grown to the 5th largest port in Ireland, in terms of imports and exports, including people. A plaque stands at the corner of the town dock to commemorate the thousands of emigrants who passed through the town in search of a better life. All year round Warrenpoint offers well known restaurants providing a variety of foods to suit every taste and pocket. Just outside Warrenpoint is Narrow Water Castle, an excellent example of a tower-house and bawn built about 1568 at the strategic point the Newry or Clanrye River meets Carlingford Lough. The Magennis Coronation Stone or stone of destiny is located at Bridal Loanan in the town, preserved on its original site. Legend tells how the Magennis clan and all of the sub-clans, who owed allegiance to 'The Magennis', would fill the surrounding countryside while the chieftain of the clan was inaugurated by placing his foot and staff of pwer into slots in the stone. Warrenpoint Park close to the centre of the town has a magnificent array of flowers and shrubs and the fine Edwardian bandstand is the focus for popular summer band concerts. Facilities include tennis courts and play area. KIlbroney Forest Park which is situated in nearby Rostrevor (3 mile drive along the coast) is a splendid place to enjoy some outdoor activities.....tennis, horse and carriage rides, and the drive or walk to the 'Big Stone. and Hermits Viewpoint.' The views are breathtaking.
