It is about 2 km from the sea and close to everything you need: beaches, nature, restaurants and other tourist areas. Nepenthe is a modest yet luxurious 2 bedroom villa with lots of boho character. When fully open, the entire ground floor changes into one large indoor-outdoor space with lots of space and light. Outside by the pool you get the feeling of a self-contained resort, surrounded by palm trees and tropical plants. At the back of the house there is a cozy stone garden with Mediterranean plants. It has a comfortable seating area, equipped with an outdoor fireplace that runs on clean ethanol fuel, perfect for warmth and cozy comfort in the evenings. But the best place in the house is without a doubt the huge terrace on the top floor.Surrounded by a herb roof garden and equipped with a full outdoor kitchen, there is ample space to relax in the lounge and enjoy the breathtaking view over the valley with its olive groves, the surrounding mountains, or the vast Libyan sea with a tiny nearby island right in front of you. The culture in Crete revolves around cooking and eating in the open air. The rooftop kitchen is equipped with a gas BBQ, perfect for a large lunch or dinner, ready to receive a large group of people with food and wine. The interior of the villa complements the natural surroundings with a modern boho design. Luxury, refinement and comfort will make you feel right at home during your holiday. About the neighbourhood
Kamilari is a quiet and picturesque hillside village, with hundreds of years of history. The mild and warm climate ensures a cozy and pleasant stay. During your visit you can get the essentials from the mini market in the center or try local flavors in the nearby taverns and restaurants. The Libyan Sea spreads in the west where you will find beautiful sandy beaches. The climate is soft all year round & the sea is crystal clear and warm until late October. Within a few minutes drive, you can enjoy a swim in Komos, Kalamaki, Matala, Pachia Ammos or Kokkino Pyrgos. About 3 km away, you will find the ancient city Phaistos, while at 18 km is the ancient Greco-Roman city Gortyna.

It's definitely recommended to hire a car for the entire trip. Some companies have a carpark right at the Heraklion airport, which is useful.

It's a drive of about 45 to 60 minutes from the airport. It's recommended to hire a car for the entire trip. Some companies have a carpark at the Heraklion airport, which is useful. You'll need a GPS app on your smartphone, like Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps. The reason is that many streets in Crete have no name! This is why houses get names instead of numbers. That might sound strange, but the good news is that the villa can be found in the GPS by searching the name, so you can navigate as usual. Type in: 'Villa Nepenthe Kamilari'. The villa will be there in the search results.
