Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

excellent tours, shabby rooms, close to nature
I looked for a non- touristic and simple place, and this is exactly what it is. My daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights.
The tours are very very good, conducted by the owner or his son, both speak fluent English, and are very friendly, polite, knowledgeable and nice. The food is delicious and abundant, served as an open buffet. We are both vegetarians and we had plenty of food and fruits.
Rooms are really shabby, with a palm leaf roof, so it is normal you get beetles or spiders visiting you.
We received mosquito nets, but the shower has mosquitoes, so it is hard to avoid getting bitten.
The path way between the rooms need fixing, as some of the wooden planks are broken or missing.
Being simple and non-touristic allows animals to come near the lodge. We saw tracks of Jaguar, Tapire and Armadilos just 20 meters from our chalet. The jungle that surrounds the lodge is very densdense, so when you go out for walking tours it is always with a machete, otherwise you can’t move even one meter. We went for most of our tours by boat, as the water were in the highest level. We saw pink and grey dolphins, piranhas, Tucans, Caymans, snakes and more.

What a beautiful place, unforgetable trip with family!
The Pousada Amazon Juma has been the best for myself and family relax for unforgettable 3 days. It is very nice rustic and comfortable separated bungalows with wonderful river views and also with very nice day s tours and night tours.
Thank you for all the staff of Pousada Amazon Juma since those that met us in Manaus and those that do a brilliant service out in the jungle.

Where 10 families are leaving at this region where are able to live in harmony with nature and live in a sustainable way of existence as having the lodge as an option of an extra gain. The lodge works with shifts of 15 days of work and 15 days free. With local trained native people divided two groups that changes every 15 days according to season. In both shifts, we employ about 20 people. The staff is composed of cooks, boat drivers, room maid, bar man, tour guides and others that help things work out as best as possible for your service.

Construction of the lodge:
The main building is a combination of typical native's house with some modern style, as the natives that live in the margins of the rivers build their homes. Floors suspended high up from the ground we call this (Palafita) construction. However, of cause with all the commodity and comfort in a private bungalow with private washroom and private veranda giving guest as much privacy as they deserve. On the main building where is located: reception, bar, restaurant and a space for games. Nice place to read a book, play cards, pool table or to have a nice refreshing tropical drink, a beer, wine or some Caipirinhas with great view specially during the high water season where you can see some pink or grey dolphins (Botos) just as you sit back and relax during the meals or as sun rise or sun set.
The lodge has 08 bungalows, all rooms with private washroom and toilet with private veranda with a hammock having a fantastic and mystic river view. During the high water season, you can see Pink dolphins from your veranda laying in a hammock for “siesta” or if you prefer you can canoe or kayak by yourself around the lodge. Discovering on your own the mystery of this region and with a little bit of luck. You might spot some animals like monkeys, alligators, sloths, snakes and many birds on your own.

Please Note: The electricity of the lodge provided 24 hours supplied by the state electricity public power company that is located about 200 km away from the lodge. However, also has a generator for incase of power failure 06:00 p.m. to 06:00 a.m. as a backup system.

How to get there
The lodge is located on the margin of the Lago do Juma, about 150 km southeast from Manaus. Departing from Manaus takes approximately three hours, done in four routes. The first route of the trip is twenty-five minutes from hotel to river Port Ceasa. Second route from the river Port of Ceasa to Port of Careiro. Crossing by speedboat, where you will have the opportunity to see the meeting of the waters. Where Rio Negro and Rio Solimões Rivers meet, for us native Amazonians known as the beginning of the Amazon River. This is a perfect opportunity to experience the marvelous sightseeing of both rivers coming together and take photos of the distinct line formed by the two rivers as they flow side by side and not mixing for many miles. After eventually mixing the brownish water of Rio Solimões river and black waters of Rio Negro river to form the mighty Amazon River flowing all the way to the Atlantic Ocean over a distance of more or less 2.000 kilometers.
Third route before arrival to next speedboat is a 50-minute ride down the Manaus to Porto Velho highway by van; this is connection by road from the Amazon State to Rondônia State. By this next route will have the chance to see many exotic amazon plants and animals, such as kingfishers, egrets, alligators and water lilies (Vitoria Regia). The last route done by speedboat, which takes 50 minutes, by boat cruising on the Mamori River until your final destination is the Lago do Juma where the lodge is located in the right margins. You will see many creeks full of wildlife, and depending on the time of year, you may get to experience the Igapós the flooded rainforest and many creeks, which natives name as Igarapés but only possible to cruise during flood season (February to August). Nice for bird watching, enjoy the sightseeing of many pink or grey river dolphins (Botos) feeding and playing right in front of the lodge throughout your stay. In addition to the incredible landscapes and breath taking sunsets, you will be able to appreciate one of the richest biodiversity of the world and with our native tour guides opportunity to gain little bit of knowledge about this amazing region.
