Charming, comfortable home from home
A gorgeous, charming extremely comfy cottage with absolutely stunning grounds. We went as a family with young children and it was absolutely perfect. The rooms are comfy, and there's no shortage of blankets, cushions, and excellent chairs to chill out in. The whole cottage is charmingly decorated, and really feels like a special place to stay. The grounds were invaluable for us, our kids ran around the huge garden, made excellent use of the swings, and we even got to pick some apples and blackberries without having to leave the gate! In the evenings the adults sat either in the gazebo or around the fire pit. It's excellently placed for daily excursions, and really feels like a lovely home from home. Kate as a host is friendly, helpful and super responsive. I wouldn't hesitate to go again (and honestly, even in the depths of winter I'm sure it would be an excellent choice, as it is just so cozy!).

Amazing Stay in a Stunning Country Cottage
We had the most amazing stay in Scar Bridge Cottage. The house was really beautiful, and set on lovely grounds with huge enclosed garden. The location was perfect, close to lovely beaches & walks perfect for exploring. The owner Kate could not have been more helpful with everything including great recommendations for local restaurants and places to go. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Scar Brisge Cottage, I would highly recommend a visit, it’s a truly magical place to stay.

Scar Bridge Cottage near Kilmore Quay
Lovely, well equipped cottage that easily accommodated 6 adults. What makes this accommodation special is the absolutely stunning garden with its own stream. The location is perfect to explore this beautiful part of Ireland.

A lovely holiday
We stayed here with our dog and had a great time. Beds were very comfy and The house was lovely. The garden is huge and we had loads of fun throwing the ball for the dog and having BBQs. It’s really close to Kilmore Quay so lots of options for food and Rosslare and Wexford Town aren’t too far either. The owner was really friendly and helpful with recommendations for things to do and places to go, The Silver Fox in Kilmore Quay was very nice.

Excellent base for essential travel
i needed to do essential work in Wexford and based myself again in Scar Bridge Cottage where we had previously holidayed. Very helpful info from owner re availability of excellent take home food from local restaurants . The cottage was a reassuring home from home for me at a tough time and I will return again with family to holiday. It is spotlessy clean , extremely comfortable and I enjoyed the Aga , that we had not needed during an earlier visit . The garden is tranquil and beautiful. Will certianly return and happily give a full 5 star recommendation again

Perfect in every way
This is a really cute cottage , recommended by friends and in which we stayed for the staycation this year . The whole trip was very relaxing . The place is very well located within easy reach of everything yet feeling away from it all .The host helpfully mapped out some day trips for us to beautiful beaches , castles , towers and lighthouses. The kids and my wife did some kayaking and I did a charter fishing trip from the marina in Kilmore Quay . All of which were great adventures that made the summer for us, On next return we plan visiting the Saltee Isands. However the highest recommendation I can give this place is that it works whatever the weather and whether you want to explore or stay put at the cottage and relax.. There is a lovely fireplace and an aga although the weather was too hot for us to need either , but lots of books, music etc and places to sit with a cuppa outside or inside My wife is a nurse and v hygiene conscious , the place thankfully met with her approval! Very well set up too with comfortable fresh beds , particularly the 4 poster in the main bedroom . We got back into reading the kids books at night cos their room was so atmospheric with the slopey ceiling and the 2 twin beds facing eachother . The kids slept great because when got home from a day out they took to the huge garden , the swings and hide and seek . I took advantage of the take out from a couple of really good local restaurants the host recommended , May Barrys and the Silver Fox , both very good and allowed the chef here a couple nights off. We also used the BBQ a couple of afternoons and toasted the essential marshmallows on the fire put . Overall a a big thumbs up from this family ! Thank you , we hope to return next summer.

Beautiful countryside cottage
My girlfriend and I had a lovely stay in Scar Bridge Cottage. It was the perfect place to get away from the busyness of Dublin. The location was ideal as the house was situated in the quiet countryside but close to lots of lovely amenities Wexford has to offer. The house is less than a 10-minute drive away from Bridgetown where you can pick all the necessary supplies you would need for your time away. Kilmore Quay is then only just over a 10-minute drive away and has a vast array of renowned seafood restaurants and very cosy cafes. Our host even organised a bus to and from Mary Barry’s seafood restaurant which meant neither of us had to drive and we could unwind in the evening which was excellent. The house itself is faultless. There is ample storage space with a large fridge and freezer. The cleanliness of the house was top tier. There was a TV with a DVD player and a large selection of movies and shows to choose from. There is a large area out the back which is perfect for enjoying the nice weather if you’re so lucky. It would have gotten a lot of use I’m sure if you had kids with you as the space is so big and there is a set of swings too. Overall it was a picture-perfect stay and couldn’t have asked for more. We will definitely be back again.

Weekend break
We stayed in Scar Bridge for a weekend, the cottage is fab and the gardens lovely too however we found it wasn't very clean and I would have expected extra cleaning due to Covid19, this was not the case. There was a bowl with scrambled egg still stuck on the side in the press with the clean dishes so clearly dishes had not been checked between guests. The chopping board and brush for cleaning the dishes had mould and one of my children arrived down from the bathroom with viagra in her hand to ask what it was, really everything should be checked between guests. The road is small but busy and each morning we were woken to what seemed to be a pack of hounds barking or a nearby dog kennels. Such a pity as it really is a lovely cottage. Half the first day was spent washing dishes etc just to be sure they were actually safe to use. Very disappointed as it was €200 a night

Thank you for your comments .We operate the recommended cleaning procedures with a professional cleaning team but of course it is possible there is human error. We do apologise for any oversight.. If this was raised at the time we would have preferred to redo or remedy any issue . We always contact our guests during their stay particularly when contact less check in is used. Sadly we were not advised of any issues during the time this party stayed at the house.
