Superb is the only way to describe the guest apartment in the Maison de Textile. 3 large en-suite bedrooms, beautifully furnished and decorated with lovely fabrics so appropriate for an old textile factory, a huge sitting-room, dining-room and very well equipped kitchen. Monique and Derek...More

About the neighbourhood
The village of Montoliieu is home to 15 booksellers and 9 artists in residence, with a museum of arts and crafts associated with the book. There are regular expositions from Spring through to Autumn and weekly Summer concerts at local restaurants of which there are 5 to choose from. Montolieu attracts over 50,000 visitors per year and even has its own swimming pool during Summer months. The historic city is Carcassonne, just 20 minutes away, with its own medieval bastide, Canal du Midi, but also home to “La Cite” - the medieval fortified chateau and town stunningly situated on a cliff above the Aude - a must visit
Getting around
Car is recommended to make the most of region including a trip to the coast from Narbonne to Callure near the Spanish border. Although do take a lazy day strolling from the aprtment around Montolieu or taking the climb to Chappelle St Roch for stunning views of the village and the Pyrennes.
