This tiny compact cottage was brilliant. Great for a couple ( I could have managed with one child). The interior was renovated to a high standard and there was nothing lacking. Good location, quiet setting. Plenty of walks for all abilities Easy reach of Chatsworth house approx, 20mins drive. Worth visiting Haddon Hall and Bakewell. The owners have thought of everything in the cottage even providing dressing gowns. Milk, eggs and a yummy cake were also awaiting us. It was a really lovely break in beautiful surrounding.

A HOMEMADE Victoria Sandwich Cake which awaits your arrival is always very well received.

The bedroom has a big comfy king size bed, adorned with soft cosy duvet and white bedlinen. Lots of storage space, and large white towelling bathrobes.

The bathroom is fully tiled and features a bath, electric sports shower, and complementary toiletries and white fluffy towels, for use during your stay.

The local towns of Bakewell, Buxton and Matlock Bath, each famous in its own right, offer culture, shopping, restaurants and traditional markets and if you still have energy, there is always the famous theme park of Alton Towers.

The beautiful village of Sheldon lies near the heart of the Peak District, three miles from the bustling market town of Bakewell, five miles from Buxton, famous for its spa and waters,and less than 15 miles from Sheffield.

Townend Cottage looks onto the village greens. The Cock and Pullet is well known for the quality of its beer and catering and Ashford in the Water village shops provide essential provisions, and post office facilities.
