This is a lovely cottage in a lovely village with two pubs both serving excellent food, a coffee shop and a convenience store. A 5 min drive from Bakewell which has a great market on Mondays. The cottage exceeded all expectations and was the perfect...More

This is a homely wee house in a lovely village with plenty of walks, only complaint was drain at back door was slightly smelly, maybe very warm weather but think it needs looked at. all in all 5 stars, Cheers

End Cottage was the perfect place to stay for our week in October. The cottage is spotlessly clean, fully fitted, with ceiling beams and has a fire if needed on a cold night! Ashford is the perfect location for walking, or driving to special locations....More

Ashford in the Water is situated in the heart of the Peak District and is a pretty village on the banks of the River Wye. It is famous for its Well Dressings, Medieval Sheepwash Bridge and beautiful old parish church, Holy Trinity. Ashford has 2 village pubs both serving food along with a restaurant, tea room, post office and a well stocked village shop which is a delicatessen, grocer and newsagent.
How to get there
End Cottage is about half an hour by road from Chesterfield/ M1 and 20 minutes from Matlock and Buxton. There is a regular bus service. Chesterfield and Matlock both have train stations Manchester and east Midlands airports are both about one hour by car
