The huge living/ dining / kitchen space accommodates a group really well, with plenty of space to hang out together or lounge around in different areas. There is a mezzanine with great panoramic views over the beach from on high! The kitchen and dining room are well designed for a group, with lots of equipment for cooking up a storm with some of the beautiful local fish and enjoying it round the huge oak table or for sipping a cocktail perched at the custom built bar. The living area is comfy and stylish with enormous sliding doors on to the terrace to open in the summer and let the fresh air and sunshine in, or to shut tight in the winter and watch the storms while snuggled up in front of the wood-burner. The bedrooms are comfy and attractive, with all natural fibre linens and towels supplied. There is parking for 4 cars on the front drive. This is a family home and we have tried to make it as stylish and comfortable as possible so please respect the furniture, books and ornaments. There are some staple supplies kept in the kitchen and bathroom. Please feel free to use any of these, we would just ask if you could replace them if they run out. (We also keep some of our own items in various cupboards and drawers around the house - please do not use these items, hopefully it is obvious which things they are...) There is no smoking allowed anywhere inside the property. Well behaved dogs are welcome, but please let us know at booking. It is not recommended for children under two years old as we do not have cots/chairs/stair gates/child locks etc.More

This house is so well tuned to the coastal landscape, it flips the conventional arrangement of rooms: five spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms are on the ground floor with the open-plan kitchen and dining room/lounge on the first floor. Warm oak flooring throughout accentuates the...More

Yes it really does back directly onto the dunes & hence to the beach...it's beautifully arranged with comfortable sleeping accommodation downstairs, and a glorious living, cooking, eating, lounging room upstairs overlooking the dunes. The house was an absolute pleasure to stay in and easily absorbed...More

I really liked the mezzanine with a view overlooking the beach. I spent a lot of time chilling out up there. The interior design was so stylish and open: there was plenty of space even with a family group of 10. I particularly enjoyed the...More

About the neighbourhood
The house is right on the beach - the garden gate opens onto the sand dunes and from there on to a sandy beach. There is plenty to do right there - windsurfing, land yachting, kite surfing, horse riding, paddle boarding, sandcastle building! Dungeness is just a few miles down the coast, with it's extraordinary landscape which is protected as a wildlife reserve and place of natural beauty. Nearby Rye is a beautiful and ancient historic town with lovely cobbled streets and independent shops, cafes and restaurants. (We supply a more comprehensive list of local shops, restaurants, bars and activities to guests once they have booked.)
Getting around
Getting around is by far easiest by car, but there are also local buses that can be used, and bus stop is close to the house.
