Buyer beware
Beautiful place, no doubt about it but this has been a nightmare. One of our guests bumped and broke a decoration. We called the next day to let the property manager know about the item. The response was something akin to a crime scene investigation. They came through with cameras and compiled a list of items outside of the item reported and in an email demanded $7,500 immediately or they will pursue legal action. To be continued…

Keep looking! They will nickel and dime you for normal wear and tear!
This owner is unreasonable and completely off her rocker. Charging our group for normal wear and tear during a “mandatory” cleaning session before the end of our trip so they could document “damage”. We are a group of professionals and the way we were treated is absurd. Look elsewhere. There are plenty beautiful properties in CR that are actually not in the middle of nowhere up a precarious hill that want your business. This woman wants to sue people and make money. The place isn’t with it, trust me.

Surpassed all expectations
The photos of this Villa do not do it justice, it surpassed all expectations. It was a perfect fit for our group of 3 adult couples. Most of our time was spent in the pool - we brought floaty chairs with us - gazing out at that view.
The villa is comfortable and well equipped. Chris (the owner) was very easy to work with and Maria was there to help us in any way. Some plumbing issues in the kitchen were quickly addressed with no inconvenience to us.
Some New construction is taking place in the development so make sure you ask about this, to ensure your serenity, isn’t disturbed.
Fresh fruit and veg, groceries and the fish market are just a 5 min drive into Tarcoles and we had a delicious dinner at Chepes restaurante on our first night.
5-10 min further down the road takes you to the marina area with shops banks restaurants and a bigger (but more expensive) grocery store. We loved the beach and beach bars in this area. 10 more mins and you are in Jaco where you will find a maxi Pali (Walmart), the cheapest place we found to buy groceries and another great fish market whee we bought amazing tuna and shrimp, which we took
Back to the villa and grilled - delicious!
Unfortunately we didn’t see any monkeys but macaws visited the almond tree at the villa daily. There were always iguanas, geckos,
Huge grasshoppers and praying mantis around. May be I shouldn’t mention the scorpion and tarantula!
I’d say a car is a must, not only is the villa a little remote, the road up to it is incredibly steep (all be it paved) however the car does not have to be 4 wheel drive.
I have already recommended this villa to friends and we may well be back.

Stay here! Amazing pool and view!
Casa Celestial is truly a little piece of heaven! Myself and 7 friends rented the house for a week to ring in the New Year, and we had an amazing time. The infinity pool is fantastic, and exactly what we needed as it hit 90 degrees (F) most days. Late December/early January seemed like the perfect time to visit Tarcoles, as rainy season had just ended and the weather was beautiful every day.
If you're renting a car for your trip, you definitely need a SUV! The house is near the top of a very big hill, the journey up is windy with multiple steep inclines. The drive up is completely worth it though - the house is secluded, and we felt very safe as there was a gate attendant at the entrance to the Costa Montana Estates at all times. The view from the house is amazing! Sitting in the infinity pool, looking down at the village of Tarcoles and the ocean was a view I'll never forget. Awesome view of the sunset every night from the pool/backyard as well!
The house is in a great location - the closest grocery store was 15 minutes south, and Jaco (closest tourist city) was another 10 minutes past it. We were about an hour and a half from Manuel Antonio National Park, which we would also highly recommend! Cindy and Marieth were extremely nice and friendly during our stay! They were eager to help with whatever we needed, which was a real bonus for us. Stay at Casa Celestial if you're planning a trip to Costa Rica! You will not regret it!
