Location: San Pedro de Poas, Costa Rica (40 minutes from the San Jose Airport) Bamboo House and separate apartment on organic coffee farm Enjoy the Bamboo house with stunning panoramic views of Poas volcano and the Central Valley. This is a one of a kind living space designed by the great Costa Rican Bamboo builder, Martin Cato. The hand made bamboo ceiling soars to a glass dome that, at night, focuses the moon beam as it travels across the hand laid hardwood and stone flooring. Natural light illuminates the space from every side for a 360 degree view - see the wondrous multi-colored hummingbirds, butterflies, coffee fields, banana plants and grand colors of the Costa Rican natural surroundings. The house is set in the center of a five acre organic coffee farm. The house is set in the center of a five acre organic coffee farm. Very private and peaceful. Part of our vision is to live sustainable so the house is solar powered. You can still stay connected via Internet. We love sitting on the deck late in the afternoon, enjoying beverages, and watching the sun set! You'll want to hang out all day so we've provided gas stove, fridge and all the cooking utensils. There is a queen bed in the bamboo house and bathroom across the deck. Check out the Virtual Tour in the Photos section!!! In addition we have separate guest quarters adjacent to the house perfect for a second couple or children. The space has a sofa bed and loft as well as a kitchenette and bathroom. The guest quarters have patio with view of Banana trees and the mountains. In addition there is a fire pit and garden area connecting the 2 living spaces. You'll love the locally made artisan bbq grill in the backyard. Contact us for further information about renting separately for a reduced price. Take a tour of the property with Jose, our caretaker. He loves people and is always delighted to show you the farm to cup process. Watch him roast a batch of our richy, tasty coffee - you 'll be drinking the fresh roast the next day. It's akin to eating fresh bread right out of the oven! Amenities : Washing Machine Bed: Queen Bed in Bamboo House, 2nd Queen bed and Sofa Bed in Cottage Kitchen: Fully stocked with basic cooking essentials, and refrigerator Outdoor features: wraparound deck with rockers and stone patio View: Mountain view Activities nearby : Birding, Horseback riding, day trips to volcanoes and shopping Transportation to Property from airport can be arranged for additional fee. Interaction with guests
We split our time between Berkeley California, Asheville, North Carolina and get to Costa Rica as much as possible. We love learning more about organic farming and continue to grow in our appreciation for Costa Rica. We also really enjoy sharing our coffee farm and Costa Rica with others. In all likelihood, we won't be on-site during your stay. Jose, our caretaker, lives on the farm with his family and he has often expressed his gratitude for the organic process. Jose is always happy to provide Coffee Tours and explain how the organic process works. He will also help with your transportation, washing clothes, and anything you need. Check out the reviews. Everyone loves Jose and we do as well!

What a wonderful place to stay! The photos of this little house do not do it justice at all. It is modern, clean, well equipped, private, peaceful and not too far from amenities. And best of all, there is Jose, who looks after the place...More

About the neighbourhood
The property is located on the way Poas Volcano near the town of San Pedro de Poas. The property is between a dairy farm on one side and a larger coffee farm on the other. 5 minutes to small grocery store. 1/4 mile off main road. We love walking down our road wth spectacular views of pastures and Poas Volcano. There is zip lining and trout fishing near by as wall as restaurants and tourist attractions on the way to Poas volcano. Don't forget about La Paz Waterfall Gardens. World class and a must-do! Lots of waterfalls to see. Ask Jose about taking you to Los Chorros. Check out our Attractions page for more information.
