This is a very well equipped villa an easy 6km cycle from the beach along the canal. The fans and layout of the villa meant we slept well. We also enjoyed being in the centre of a village.

About the neighbourhood
Portiragnes is still a very traditional French village built around its 12th century church which is visible from the house. There are plenty of typical French village shops for your daily supplies and if you choose to eat out there is a selection of restaurants. Bull running through the village takes place in July and August and for the Fete du Vin in October. Portiragnes music festival is in June and the Feria in July.Walk or cycle along the Canal du Midi or simply watch the boats negotiating the lock at Portiragnes village. There are also lovely walks around the nature reserves situated near the beaches. Flamingos, nightingales, serins & turtle doves name but a few of the birds seen on our walks around the fields of the Canal du Midi.During the season, dancing, concerts, exhibition...
How to get there
CAR :Just 10 minutes drive from Beziers East motorway exit 35 on the A9 and with a train station and airport within 8 miles, Portiragnes is an easy place to reach but is far from the madding crowds of large resorts! AIRPORTS: Beziers/Cap d'Agde airport is the nearest airport to Portiragnes but the following airports are all within easy driving distance: Montpellier, Nimes, Perpignan, Carcassonne, Toulouse, Girona. Easyjet, Ryanair, Flybe and BMI fly to the above destinations from many UK cities. Direct flights are available from Cork, Dublin, Dusseldorf, Stockholm, Paris, Brussels, Oporto and Oslo.TRAIN : All year round - Eurostar to Lille or Paris and then TGV to Beziers or Montpelier with nearby car rental and taxis. July to September only - Eurostar from London St Pancras International direct to Avignon then TGV to Beziers.
