Second stay here and it would be our fourth, but we cannot always schedule early enough. The house itself is lovely and extremely well-maintained. The gated community is secure and clean. The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need no matter if you're cooking, going to the beach, or lazing by the pool. Proximity to Holetown for groceries, a night out, or shopping is a big plus and the nearby French Bakery makes breakfast a daily highlight. Sharon, the owner, is easy to work with and very timely when communication is necessary and the property manager, Diana, is hands-on and always available. Free local phone calls, completely air-conditioned, and plenty of hot water are a plus. This property is first class--top to bottom! We prefer to cook at home as dining out is expensive, but we love Surfside for its location and eclectic clientele. Try it, you'll love it.

Cute quaint property
Stayed in 2016 and loved my experience. Spacious rooms, clean and cute property. Communication was easy and provided us with need to know information about transportation, distance from the beach etc. It is not that close to town, so a driver may be necessary because cabs can become costly depending on how long you stay. We hired a driver and that made the experience perfect.

Fabulous as always
We have been staying at Beija Flor since 2010 and have celebrated many happy birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions there, anytime from November to May. The villa never disappoints, it is so well equipped our family enjoyed creating some stunning meals using local ingredients, with the fresh fish and BBQ, all to be eaten al fresco under the awning….the perfect way to end a day in the sun!
The gardens have become more established and beautiful over the years and the hummingbirds in the hibiscus are stunning. There are monkeys nearby in Porters Great House but (thankfully as they are thieves) we didn’t see one in the garden this time…if you do watch your fruit bowl!!
Sharon’s villa really is a “home from home”, plenty of adaptors, a running pantry for herbs and spices and a very useful welcome pack.
Post covid some of the long standing restaurants have closed, The Tides which was always our favourite is now under new management and was the only disappointment of our 2 weeks stay. However Paul Owens at The Beach House which has only been open for 18 months has easily surpassed the Tides in food and location. In easy walking distance of Beija Flor is The SeaCat, a quirky family run restaurant well worth a visit for their key lime pie.
Heron Bay beach is as beautiful as ever, walking down every morning for a swim and popping into the local bakery for croissants and bread is quite special.
This time we didn’t hire a car for the duration and while taxi prices have undoubtedly increased, it was still cost effective to use them in the evenings. During the day we use the regular buses which at 3.5 BBS per journey are very good value. My husband and I visited Huntes Gardens in the middle of the island (fabulous as ever) using 4 buses, quite an adventure but great fun. We did hire a car for the last few days , delivered to the villa, and offset the cost by returning it to the airport avoiding the taxi fare for that. Sharon uses Stoutes and I have always found emailing Ann Stoute secures a further discount.
We will be back without a doubt, it feels like “coming home” the minute we walk through the door at Beija Flor. Thank you Sharon!

Lovely holiday
Picked up at the airport by Ronaldo from exquisite taxi excellent help to fast track through the airport would
All details on entry etc e.mailed to us by Sharon before departure from Uk,lovely gated community.Met on arrival by Diana property manager who gave us a quick tour ,the bedrooms were all of a lovely size and well presented.Only 2of us so we chose to stay in the downstairs bedroom which also had Tv and excellent air conditioning as well as a ceiling fan.sitting room appeared smaller than it looked in the pictures but fine for us.Pool was full of leaves on our arrival but Diana asked the pool man to return, most days my husband had to skim the pool with the net ,inevitable when there is such a lovely garden with lush foliage and pretty birds and butterflies in abundance . We hired a small car as we were staying for 3 weeks and wanted to explore the island as this was our first time.Easy drive here as same side as Uk all cars seem to be automatic.Be prepared for the very bumpy roads and big potholes,we went to pretty much all of the Island.Enjoyed the Flower cave had lunch in the restaurant with lovely views of the Atlantic.
Food is expensive to buy in the supermarkets take coffee with you as quite a saving.
Sharon has thought of providing, parasol, fold up chairs and cool bag which we used most days for picnic lunch at the beach, also sun hats and shopping bags available.
Heron beach is a short walk or take the car if you have one easy to carry everything.Beach shelves a little but lovely warm sea and lots of small crabs.Back home to the pool and sun beds.
We ate out for dinner most evenings,on Sharon’s recommendation we tried Lonestar,Tides,Fishpot our favorite restaurant was Seashed we also enjoyed Fusion and Nishi.
The only minor criticism is that there is quite a busy road which the garden backs onto and traffic could be a little noisy at times.
We loved Barbados always felt safe everywhere we will be back hopefully in the not too distant future.
Forgot to mention Bernadette the wonderful cleaner she is a ray of sunshine and don’t forget to go to the fish fry at Oistins not to be missed best fish I had and cheapest.

Lovely Villa
There were 5 of us in our party and the 3 spacious en suite bedrooms and outside space in the garden and pool area was plentiful.
The villa is a 10/15 minute stroll from the beach , bakery and 3 local restaurants.
You have a choice of some more upmarket beach side restaurants these are a short drive/taxi away as well as casual beach type bars about a 20 minute walk.
Interaction and information was always available from the owner and both the villa manager and housekeeper were always on hand and very helpful.
The villa is in a gated community but everywhere felt very safe to explore , the pool and surrounding gardens are very nice with sun and shaded areas to suit all tastes , although we were made aware of some issues with some local construction vehicles passing by the garden it’s fair to say that it is very intrusive to have cement mixers and large trucks passing within 20 feet of the pool and at times it was a regular stream of vehicles throughout the day which unfortunately made relaxing around the pool area very difficult with the noise and diesel fumes. The owner is trying to stop the vehicles but it would be remiss of me not to mention the issue.
Once the construction work vehicles cease to operate I would highly recommend the property for visiting the Holetown area.

Thank you kindly for taking the time to leave a review it is much appreciated. I am pleased that you have left such an honest review and again I apologise for the nuisance and disturbance caused by the construction vehicles. However, I am happy to report that as of March it appears that the construction site are no longer using the pathway by the side of the pool/garden. If you decide to visit Barbados again I hope you will consider staying with us again so that you can enjoy the villa as it was intended. Warm regards, Sharon

Third time family trip
I've been to Beija Flor 3 times now and I love the place. Sharon has been very accommodating for us over the years with our growing family. The house is perfect for our family because its a perfect location being so close to Holetown, the highway isn't too far away, the beach is a short walk down the road, be careful of traffic but its one of my top 5 beaches in Barbados. If you don't mind a 20 minute walk in the sun then you can get to the super market, Limegrove centre and Holetown Chattel village. You could actually do this holiday without a car with the bus links and taxis, but Diana (the house manager) helped us sort an 8 seater car from Farleys car rentals, which was much more reasonable than other rentals we have had (around £600 for 2 weeks).
The kids were out in the pool every morning and have since learned to not fear full submersion, which was slightly daunting; but they had a fantastic holiday. We would go back anytime, but sadly our family may be getting too big now, but I'd recommend this house to anyone looking around Barbados for somewhere to stay.
The only negative thing I can say about my trip was that in the second week some building work started on the fields behind the estate and they added a road for trucks in the bushes a few metres from the pool area. Barbados doesn't have regulations about informing people of work or noise regulations. This doesn't reflect badly on this property and there is nothing that could have been done about it, it could have happened anywhere. We still carried on using the pool, sitting outside and traveling around the island.
If you go to Barbados, I highly recommend traveling around the island.
Flying Fish for lunch at Bathsheba, rum tasting at St Nicolas Abbey, swimming in the Animal Flower cave, Oistens fish fry (when its back to its lively nature) and a massive recommendation to Cool Runnings with their Sunset cruise. Go, and enjoy it all!
A big thank you again to Sharon, we had a great trip.

I also have to say it has been pleasure hosting you and your growing family over the years and we will miss you. Superb villa in a wonderful location.
Wow! Just back from a fabulous fortnight in Barbados in a superb villa.
Beija Flor is a very well equipped and tastefully furnished villa. On our arrival, everywhere was spotlessly clean and tidy. The kitchen has everything needed to cater for six people. All the bedrooms are light and cool with very comfortable beds and plenty of storage space.
Outside, the garden is well tended welcoming many birds, insects and the occasional monkey! The good sized pool affords welcome relief from the heat.
Whilst the villa sells itself, we also have to say that this is enhanced by Team Beija Flor – what a superb team, who go the extra mile to ensure your holiday is a wonderful experience.
All in all a first class holiday in a lovely villa in an excellent location for exploring the many beautiful beaches and places of interest in Barbados. Definitely to be repeated!
Thanks to all

Beautiful villa in a quiet location.
The villa itself was everything we needed for the 6 of us. Very roomy, lovely pool which felt like it was heated after the sun was on it all day, very spacious rooms, en suite with large walk in wardrobes and air conditioned. A gardener and pool cleaner visited regularly and were lovely (the gardener even gave me and my sister-in-law a lift one day as he recognised us down the road). The people of Barbados are so friendly and welcoming where ever you go. Bernadette was our house keeper who came a couple of times a week to clean etc. Such a lovely woman, helpful and friendly.
The location is ideal for being close enough to amenities AND being away from it all. The only noise at night was the tree frogs! With a slow walk to the local beach it took us about 10 minutes. The beach is small and secluded but has a 'hut' that serves drinks and basic food, a souvenir shop, cafe/bar and public toilets. There are a few reefs to snorkel around and there is a life guard on duty too. It was our favourite place to go for a relaxing day.
We used the local buses almost every day as they are cheap, convenient and great fun. The Reggae busses are the best with music playing and brightly painted interiors. And again the drivers and conductors were extremely helpful and friendly. We used them to take us into Bridgetown, Speitstown and St Lawrence Gap. Taxis are readily available too but get them to give you a price before you get in as the charges vary considerably.
I liked dealing with the villa owner, Sharon, directly as it made it easier and quicker to deal with the whole booking. Overall a very relaxed holiday at a wonderful location and I would recommend it to families or a group of friends.

Fantastic Villa
Beira Flor is a fantastic villa located just outside Holetown on west coast of Barbados. We were 3 couples and this was all of our first time in Barbados so we didn’t really know exactly what to expect. When we booked Sharon’s villa we read all of the reviews, but when we opened the front door we really impressed. The villa had everything that we could wish for, especially the three very large en-suite bedrooms, each with a large walk in wardrobe and large comfortable beds, and safes.
The kitchen had everything we needed including a massive fridge freezer with automatic ice maker (essential for the G & T’s!). The whole villa was really clean and tidy, with well tended garden. The pool was really good, with 6 sun loungers, and the whole garden caught the sun for most of day. We had hummingbirds visiting every day, and as the garden backs on to forest, we quite often saw monkeys first thing in the morning.
The villa is on a road that at times was a bit noisy, but this was mainly due to the lorries going to road works taking place about half mile away - don’t let this put you off!
There is a great beach a slow 10 minute walk away, and Holetown is about a 20 minute walk, with some good restaurants enroute.
Beija Flor villa is in a brilliant villa in a brilliant location for a holiday in Barbados, and we would highly recommend it. Thank you Sharon.

Barbados is a very safe island for tourists with crime rates being the lowest in the Caribbean region; however you still need to exercise the same caution as you would at home by not leaving valuables on display and not walking around unlit roads at night. The Lone Star and Tides restaurants are among these. However, if you want something tasty but simple then Just Grilling is a must or if you want real authenticate Bajan food, stop at one of the local vans parked on the roadside and sample good home cooking.
