Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Epic glamping experience!
Great stay at Medley Meadows. Comfortable for four friends needing a place to crash while we hiked Sugarloaf and the nearby Brecon Beacons. Double room was comfortable and loved that we had the option to spread out in the bunk room and a pullout couch in the main room. The kitchen had all the essentials and we even utilized the campfire, roasting dinner one evening. The shower was just the thing we needed after a long days hike too! Louise was the best host and we even had some treats waiting for us when we arrived. Great location and took advantage of all the nearby sites seeing Raglan Castle, the Wye Valley and Tintern Abbey too. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to explore more of Wales!

Love, Love, Love this place!
We stayed here, in a Safari tent for 2 nights with our 8 year old son and his friend and we absolutely loved it - the perfect glamping experience, with all the fun of camping and the added luxury of comfy beds and great facilities. We roamed the fields whilst the children collected fire wood, we ate out at the local pub and had a blast cooking on the fire pit. Smores were definitely a firm favourite for both the children and us adults! The simplicity of cuddling up infront of the roaring log burner whilst the rain hits the tent gives a feeling like no other. A beautiful, well needed, break from all of the noise of modern life. The children were upset to leave and begged to stay longer. Getting back to basics, away from games consoles etc, really allowed them to engage their imagination and enjoy a little adventure. We'll definitely be back.

Wonderful Experience and Hosts!
This is our second visit to Medley Meadows. We stayed in the Train Cabin during our first visit. On this occasions we gave the safari tent experience a try. Firstly, we have to let you know how amazing the hosts, Louise and Chris, are. They are so accommodating and will do whatever they can to make your stay wonderful. They leave little treats for your arrival too. On both occasions the glamping experience has been fantastic. The train cabin is so cozy and quaint. The safari tents are like nothing you’ve seen. They are spacious, well equipped and perfect for a family glamping experience; the beds are so comfy and cosy. Where can you experience a log burner in a tent, we loved it! The grounds are so beautiful and quiet too, with nature on your door step. This is something we would highly recommend and we will be looking to go back soon.

Best staycation ever (Fact)
Such an amazing little break away from the stress of daily life. On arrival, Louise was there to greet us and show us to our safari tent. We were running late but she waited for us. As we had never been in a safari tent before we did not really know what to expect. What a find. It was immaculate, clean, well equipped and the most peaceful place we have ever stayed. Although there is a kitchen with hobs and all the equipment you need, we decided to cook on the fire pit which was a great experience. There are other tents around but for the 3 days we did not see another person. It was as if we had the whole Meadow to ourselves. We managed to fit in loads of local activities throughout the days but on return to the meadow and relaxing in the evening, there was nothing better than listening to the incredible amount of different wildlife noises surrounding us. If you like rabbits then there are plenty. From the initial contact with Louise to checking out it was a experience that we only wished we found ages ago. We will definitely return and have already recommend to everyone we know. The special care and attention and little touches that were put into our stay cannot be mirrored anywhere else. Thank you both. Wayne & Hannah.

Perfection achieved!
When myself & wife were looking for some where to stay for a trekking weekend we stumbled upon this magical place. For our first stay we utilised the beautiful converted train carriage to which accommodated all of our needs, it was lovelly and cosy and the perfect place to retire after a good days trekking of which the surrounding areas offer in abundance. We loved the site so much we returned two weeks later for another booking. For our second stay we utilized one of the safari glamping tents (Hazel). We had brought the whole family this time so the generous space was well appreciated. Once again there were no disappointments; all our needs were catered for, especially as we have a son with a disability and the extra comfort needed to support his requirements. Hazel (the tent) offered us the chance to holiday with ease with all the utilities in place and ample space. On both occasions the site maneger Loiuse was very approachable; before and during our stay, always on hand to respond to any requests and gladly assist. We extremely enjoyed both visits and below are some of the many positives on offer: Trekking routes nearby Dog friendly Warm & cosy Fire pits/BBQs Full ameneties Friendly reception Spacious Easy to locate We will be returning.

Tranquil luxury camping!
We’ve just had a couple of days camping in style with our 3 children (one of which is only 7 weeks old), dog and 2 adults. We all loved it! It was a really relaxing, tranquil break from the current craziness. A real back to nature experience, cooking on a log fire, reading books snuggled around a log burner. The girls loved their bunk beds and the Lego! Louise was really helpful with our last minute booking and sharing her knowledge about the place with us. Even offering to pick up some supplies for us from the local shop. We will definitely go back again! Good thing it’s only 15mins away!

Special place!
We stayed for a couple of nights in the Hazel safari tent and wow! Exactly as advertised and more then what we had hoped. Luxury touches, private space and relaxing location. Also had our little dogs with us who loved exploring around the meadows which has some pretty spots to stop and relax. Its a credit to the owners who couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome and will be heading back there in the future.

Stunning, tranquil weekend.
A wonderful short stay here. Beautiful landscape, quirky accommodation and, tranquil. However the one thing I would like to mention was that the communication we received leading up to our stay by the host, Andrew, was very poor, and at times left us second guessing some of the details of our trip. We also didn't feel we received the same warm welcome all the other reviewers had received upon their arrival which is a real shame.

Hi David, Glad you had a lovely time. Apologies the communication and welcome wasn’t as good as expected. Andrew sold the business to us (Louise & Chris) I believe the day you came and I can only assume that he was extremely busy which may have resulted in less communication than usual. Not an excuse but I hope you understand this isn’t the norm and please accept our apologies for this happening. Our aim is to always give all guests as much information and assistance ahead of and during their stay as possible. We also pride ourselves on providing a warm welcome and ensuring everyone has the best time. We hope you’ll come back again and we’ll have chance to show that this is at the heart of what we do. Take care. Kind Regards, Louise.

About the neighbourhood
We are located in rural Monmouthshire and have views to the Brecon Beacons National Park. You can take a footpath directly from the site, through the meadows, to The Foxhunter pub in Nant-y-Derry. It’s about a 40 minute walk. The Clytha Arms is a couple of minutes drive away and The Hardwick less than a ten minute drive. All great pubs. Raglan castle, the Abergavenny canals and the Brecon Beacons National Park are all within 6 or 7 miles. Some great hill walks include Sugar Loaf, The Blorenge, The Skirrid and Pen y Fan (Pen y Fan is about an hour away). The Blaenavon World Heritage Site is a 20 minute drive and some lovely towns and villages include Abergavenny, Crickhowell, Brecon, Raglan, Monmouth and Hay on Wye.
