This traditional Lakeland farmhouse sits nestled on the southern slopes of Blencathra in a quiet rural setting just outside the village of Threlkeld. The location in the heart of the Lake District National Park is ideal for keen walkers and cyclists, though the property also makes an excellent base for those who wish to simply relax and enjoy the stunning views and local wildlife. Lambs graze in the field behind Ings and the large south facing garden is frequented by red squirrels and a wide variety of bird life. The property is reached up a tree lined track through a five-barred gate from the lane.

Great location and facilities. Well set up for cooking. Have booked for next year already. An additional toilet would make it perfect!

The house is ideally situated, well presented and equipped. Walks from the door which is good for grandkids and grandma! Lovely pub (Horse and Farrier), great coffee shop locally. It will be even better once railway walk to Keswick is repaired. We had a great time and will be booking again.

About the neighbourhood
Threlkeld has two well known pubs - the Horse and Farrier being the closest and The Salutation at the other end of the village. There is excellent local shopping in Keswick together with theatre, cinema and lake cruises. Keswick Golf Club is less than a mile away and welcomes visitors.
Getting around
There is bus service from Threlkeld to Penrith to the East and Keswick (and on to Cockermouth and Workington) to the West. The bus stop is at the end of the lane leading to Ings from the A66 exit.

Easy access from M6 junction 40 via A66. Ings is less than 20 minutes from the motorway junction.<BR><BR>Ings can be reached by public transport. Penrith station is on the West Coast main line from where a number of buses regularly depart for Threlkeld village. From here a short walk down the lane leads to the property.
