Pembrokeshire Holiday Rentals

Pembrokeshire Holiday Rentals
Pembrokeshire, tucked away in South West Wales, is a remote but beautiful corner of the UK, with spectacular coastlines on three sides and gorgeous countryside alongside highly picturesque towns such as Tenby, Fishguard and Haverfordwest. And as if that wasn't enough for a family holiday, it's recently been a filming location for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows! As Pembrokeshire is such a rural destination, self-catered accommodation, with all the flexibility it brings, is the only sensible option for a family holiday. There are a huge number of holiday cottages all over the county, generally close enough to towns such as St David's, Tenby or Haverfordwest that you can easily make trips for supplies or to eat out, but far enough away from civilisation that you can relax completely and let the kids enjoy a complete break in the wilderness.
Things to do in Pembrokeshire
Pembrokeshire is a county made for explorers. You can explore the coastline over the traditional paths, or indulge in a little coasteering - the seaside equivalent of free running, only with more swimming - around St David's. St David's is the UK's smallest city, and the cathedral is also well worth a visit while you're drying your socks after the coasteering, and elsewhere there are sights such as the Preseli Hills (where the stones used to build Stonehenge were quarried) and more universally appealing attractions like Oakwood Theme Park, which has rollercoasters and rides and occasional appearances from bands like Girls Aloud. Also, young historians will love the huge number of castles that litter the county in various states of repair, particularly the imposing Pembroke Castle, whose walls sit on top of a site which has been occupied since Roman times.
Cottages in Pembrokeshire
There is a huge selection of holiday cottages across the county of Pembrokeshire, clustered around all of the major, and many of the minor, towns. St David's, Tenby, Haverfordwest, Fishguard and Pembroke itself would all make a great base from which to explore the nearby countryside and tourist attractions, and unlike more glamorous parts of the country, holiday rentals in this part of Wales are incredibly reasonably priced. A family of six could certainly expect to pay less than £800 for their week's accommodation, depending on the time of year, and with the huge variety of beauty spots and historic sites, as well as more traditional tourist attractions, one week is only just enough to scratch the service of this wonderful region.
