New Mexico Apartment Rentals
With its rich cultural heritage from Native American and Spanish settlers, New Mexico has been both a Spanish colony and a Mexican colony, and still retains a strong individual identity within the United States. The landscape is breathtaking, the food incredible, and there is a thriving cultural scene, all of which makes New Mexico, and Santa Fe in particular, a great place family friendly holiday destination all year round. To get the most out of New Mexico's unique culture, look into renting an authentically furnished apartment rather than settling for a standard dull hotel room.
Things to do in New Mexico
With the Rocky Mountains and the famous Route 66 both passing through New Mexico, there are some obvious attractions to explore, and that's before you consider taking a day out to explore Roswell to look for UFO wreckage, or Los Alamos (where the atomic bomb was developed). The other major towns are the capital Albuquerque (home of an amazing hot air balloon festival), and the tourist hotspot Santa Fe up in the mountains. Santa Fe is an artistic centre, and there are many museums and galleries to explore, as does nearby Taos. Santa Fe has a lot to recommend it, there's the art scene, the scenic beauty of this city at 7,000 feet, and then there's the diversity of the arts, food and people themselves. It has a very small, compact downtown, which is easy for a family to walk around, and a host of film festivals, art festivals, wine festivals and other special events throughout the year. There is always something going on and it's a really exciting town to visit.
Renting an Apartment in New Mexico
There are a wide variety of holiday rentals all over New Mexico, particularly around Santa Fe, where you can easily find an apartment which will sleep a family of three or four for anything between £550 to £1,000 a week. Many of these apartments are situated in traditional style adobe houses, beautifully furnished, and give you a real taste for the local culture. They have a huge amount more character than a sterile and boring hotel room, and provide extra space for your luggage, and for the kids to run around and let off steam while you relax and don't have to worry about people in the next room being disturbed by the noise.
