Atlantic City holiday rentals
Atlantic City in Atlantic County, New Jersey is a resort city with a reputation for gambling and great nightlife. As the name suggests, it is situated on the Atlantic Coast, and much as Londoners might not like the fact, its street names were the original inspiration for property dealing board game Monopoly. And its 1920s heyday was also the inspiration for hit television series Boardwalk Empire. Atlantic City makes a great destination for a family holiday even today, and with a host of reasonably priced rental homes across the city, there is a compelling money saving argument in favour of choosing self-catered rental accommodation.
Things to do in Atlantic City
Atlantic City has been a resort destination ever since the late nineteenth Century, so there is plenty to keep you occupied on a family holiday. You can explore much of the city on foot via the famous Boardwalk, which takes in many of Atlantic City's casinos, and stretches for four miles. You can also visit attractions such as the Atlantic City Aquarium or Atlantic City Historical Museum, as well as more outdoor attractions such as the Absecon Lighthouse which provides spectacular views of the New Jersey coast, and of course the beach, where you can go swimming, surfing or just soak up the sun and work on your tan. And of course if the children are a bit older - you can always visit one of the eleven casinos for a more glitzy evening out.
Renting an apartment in Atlantic City
With a wide variety of rental apartments and condos available in Atlantic City, there are a huge number of deals available - and it's straightforward to find rental homes large enough to sleep a family of four or more from around £625 a week. This works out as a low cost option compared to booking hotel rooms for the whole family, and you can also make your holiday budget stretch a bit further by preparing breakfasts, packed lunches and even the odd evening meal in your own rented home, rather than eating out for every meal (saving some money for a flutter at the casinos!). With the added space and privacy, apartment rentals are also great for kids - the youngest members of the family can run around and let off steam without worrying about disturbing neighbours and other holidaymakers.
