Makati Holiday Rentals
The city of Makati is the financial center of the Philippines and one of the major financial, commercial and economic hubs in Asia. It is one of the most populous metropolitan areas in the world, and provides an eclectic mix of holiday rentals - from luxurious homes to small holiday villas and rental condos on the outskirts of the city. Makati is well known for its highly cosmopolitan culture, and many expatriates live and work in the city. It is also a major cultural and entertainment hub in Metro Manila.
Business and Commerce
Makati is home to the Philippine stock exchange and the Makati Business Club. You will likely be able to see the tallest buildings in the Philippines, the PBCom Tower and the GT International Tower, from the window of your holiday rental. The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), the country's oldest bank, has its headquarters in Makati. Walk from your rental apartment to the Ayala Museum, which is most noted for its series of dioramas depicting major events in Philippine history, from the Battle of Mactan to the People Power Revolution.
Activities in Makati
If you enjoy horseracing, there are two racetracks in Makati: the Santa Ana Racetrack, in the northern part of the city, and the San Lazaro Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite. You can make easy arrangements from your holiday rental to enjoy a day at the races. To witness a chukka of the sport of kings, the Manila Polo Club provides lively entertainment. Or you can play a round of golf on an 18-hole golf course amid the lush greenery of the city.
Shopping in Makati
The city’s first-class shopping malls will be an easy commute from your holiday rental. Makati’s three main department stores, SM Department Store Makati, Rustan's, and the Landmark, all offer great shopping. Greenbelt is another sophisticated and modern mall where you can load up on souvenirs to bring back to your holiday rental. It has dozens of cafés, upscale restaurants and high-end boutiques, and overlooks a beautifully landscaped green park.
Climate
Because of its proximity to the equator, the temperature range in Makati is very small, rarely going lower than 20°C or higher than 38°C. There are two seasons in the Philippines: a warm, dry climate and a tropical monsoon climate with oppressive humidity. So remember when you’re booking your trip that an air-conditioned holiday rental is a must. You will be pleased by the wide availability of luxurious rental properties throughout this unique city.
