Nerja: sun, sea and golden sand
With 16kms of beaches and azure blue sea, Nerja’s sparkling coastline is a thing of beauty. It’s no surprise that this once sleepy fishing village is now a popular destination for holidaymakers. Not too popular though; luckily, the protected Sierras of Tejeda, Almijara and Almara Natural Park has kept developers at bay so the centre still retains a rustic charm while at the same time, has fantastic facilities. You’ll find an excellent choice of holiday rentals, from jaw-dropping luxury villas to cute and convenient apartments.
Family fun and fiestas
The laid-back atmosphere and family-friendly attractions make Nerja a great choice for kids of any age. Younger children will love taking a ride on the Tourist Train while spotting the sights around the town. It’s a great way for grown-ups to get their bearings too. During the summer months, Plaza Fábrica de los Cangrejos has plenty of activities for families, such as nightly concerts, fiestas and a bouncy castle.
Romantic walks and popping corks
What could be more romantic than walking hand in hand along the beach with your other half to the sound of the waves lapping on the shore? Playa de Maro is consistently voted as being one of the best beaches in Spain and with its picturesque waterfalls, underwater caves and prime snorkeling conditions, it’s also one of the most romantic.
