Fossils in Lyme Regis
Known for its geology and unique fossils, Lyme Regis is beloved by visitors who like to get their hands dirty. Since the town is located on the Jurassic Coast, it is common to find fossil remains of various sea creatures along the shore. Monmouth Beach in particular is a popular place for kids and adults to go fossil hunting in the sand. If you’re not up for digging in the sand, Dinosaurland Fossil Museum has more than 10,000 specimens on display.
Things to do
With something for visitors of every age and interest to do, it’s easy to see why travellers return to Lyme Regis year after year.
