It is far from the city center, but transportation is not difficult. You can also have a different urban experience on the metro journey. The hotel is stylish and comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional, very varied and very tasty. There are different shopping alternatives around the hotel. And it was quite enjoyable for us to get involved in non-touristy life. And lastly, the hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Rooms are dirty and smelly. Everything in the building is old and used. No reception, no conveniences, horrible location.
How can this place be 5 stars is beyond me... On top of that the price is expensive.

I booked this Hotel based on the relative closeness to airport and that they advertised that they offered airport shuttles. (Be careful; these are limited as I found out) Positive notes: Lovely girl on reception very friendly but she was a trainee and had to keep going off and asking questions; this meant a less than speedie check-in. I had already been up travelling for several hours and just wanted to get into my room, it was now late afternoon. The apartment block was in a separate building across the street; Very very spacious apartment, 2 bedroom even though I'd only booked a 1 bed. Very different in terms of a lot of black so it seemed quite dark the bathroom was all black tiling and very poor lighting. Excellent shower but it did leak all over the floor! The kitchen was weird in that even though it had a microwave etc there was no cutlery or plates so even if I had managed to find somewhere to buy food, I had nothing to eat it on/with? The internet was very poor and couldn't get a connection at all; phoned reception for assistance they said they'd send someone..... 2 calls later and 30mins plus (now getting very frustrated) A lovely guy finely came, got me connected using an 'internal staff' access!! He escorted me back down to the main reception/foyer bar area where I got a couple of glass's of wine and re-connected me again via a staff internet access.... No restaurants close by and as a single female traveling I wasn't keen and he recommended that i don't go out walking around to find food although public transport was close by... The next morning was a nice surprise as I waited for the airport shuttle, (earliest was 7am which was touch and go timing for my flight check in). But free coffee and small selection of pastries was available for self serve in the foyer bar area. So touching back on the airport shuttle; they only provide this service several times a day it is not a continuous running service all day/night. So when my flight arrived at just prior to 5pm, after much confusion found out that the next shuttle was 7pm. So I ended up getting a bus, this was ok and cheap but the driver was a little confused in terms of where I need to get off. Had to cross a freeway/main road and then walk through a park area to get the Hotel. You can also not pre-book this service it is a first in best dressed. Note for Management: please offer guest a map on there check in as these are not available in the rooms

This hotel is absolutely beautiful, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Its located more with the locals near the airport, rather than the hustle and bustle of the main city. Sits by a metro station which takes less than 15 mins to La Ramblas. They also have a free shuttle bus you can use. I would certainly book again!

I have mixed feelings about the experience of the Aparthotel. The staff are very helpful polite and it is a good choice for access to the airport if all goes well in choosing an apartment. Some people will have a satisfactory outcome.
I didn't. I hoped to drop my bag once I checked in at 1pm, and be able to meet my sister to do sightseeing in central Barcelona. Because of the technical problems I needed to stay around for 3 hours until I received a replacement key for a new room.
The air conditioning was so feeble that although it was set at 19 the temperature climbed from 25 to 27 C within 2 hours of getting my room.
No technician appeared when I asked for help, so I packed up and went to reception.
A member of staff was really kind and brought me to a better apartment on the cool side of the hotel. The AC still didn't work but at 22c it was bearable. This is not a renovated room so furniture and sofa were not to the same standard as 302 my first room.
I took a taxi from town to the hotel as I didn't want to negotiate an unlit underpass from the Hospital car park, where you find the metro access. The bus stop for night bus N16 is on a level with Galp petrol station, and there are well lit walkways to get there.
The bus to the airport arrived on schedule and took 10 minutes to get to T2B at 3.33am.
Such a brief stay but I may use again providing I can get a room on the shaded side.
