I've been blessed to have taken two cross country "road trips" in my life. The first one took me from Florida to Ottawa and through most of Canada where we returned to the US and continued to Oregon before flying to SF and then back to Florida.
The second one took me from Florida through the middle of the US (Memphis, Kansas, Colorado) then headed NW to Utah and on to Oregon. Coming back we headed south to Reno, stopped at the Grand Canyon (driving there as the sun rose), and on into the panhandle of Texas before heading south to NO, and back home to Florida.
Both of these trips made me yearn for further travel. Later in life, I fell in love further with "the West" when I worked on a project in Wyoming. Before I got married I took my honey out to Wyoming to see the areas I had come to love- the Wind River Range, the Tetons, and Yellowstone.
Since 1993 we've spent all but one year going on a 12-16 day vacation some where in the West.
