I'm an Aussie who was a tourist, but have now found myself living in Pamukkale, which was most unplanned! So I find it very interesting to share and gain information and experiences from the 2 sides of the coin - the tourist and the resident.
Pamukkale is an amazing and diverse area of Turkey that quite often gets overlooked on quick trips through the country, however people who take the time to stop and stay here, find not only the travertines that glimmer and change colour in the sunset, but an area thats full of historical sites like Aphrodisias, Laodikya and Colassae to name a few. There's also mud baths, caves and waterfalls to enjoy and due to Pamukkale's central location, many other areas and the coast are just a few hours drive.
A good site for the area is www.pamukkale.govt.tr
