My first solo trip overseas was at the age of 17, when I left Australia for 3 months cycling and bussing around Europe. Since then I have rarely stayed still. Some of the more interesting places I have travelled are South Korea (for a month teaching English) Chile and Argentina.
When I travel I like to experience local life. I don't have much patience for people who complain that things arent done the same way as they are at home, nor do I hold with taking all my creature comforts with me. Pack light, be adaptable. Be open to new experiences.Ttry to work out WHY things are different to the way they are at home - and be open to the possibility that they may be better.
I live in the southern Loire Valley, and run custom made tours in a classic French car for groups of 2 or 3 people, specialising in wildlife, food and drink and , of course, chateaux. Check out tourtheloire.com .
