Usually travel for business or visiting friends/family out of state. I figure locals know best.
I worked my way through college waiting tables and in retail, so I try to be forgiving for service I receive at hotels and restaurants. So if I report terrible service or treatment by an employee in the hospitality industry, I have given that person a wide leeway for error.
If I complain about poor service, I'm probably very offended at the blatent rudeness of the offender. I'm not a chronic complainer that you sometimes see on Trip Advisor.
