How Peace of Mind Protection works

Payment Protection gives you extra peace of mind when booking a holiday rental. Just pay online on TripAdvisor – to be covered. If you pay the property owner or manager directly you’re not covered by this policy.

What is Payment Protection?

It is very rare for something to go wrong. But with Payment Protection, you know you’re covered if it does. If you’re unable to gain access to the holiday rental on your check-in date, contact us within 24 hours of the date stated on your booking confirmation to claim a full refund. How do I know if my payment is protected?

You must pay online on TripAdvisor for a property displaying the Peace of Mind badge. Payments made by any other means will not be covered by Payment Protection.

How do I make a claim?

If you have exhausted efforts to resolve the matter with the property owner/manager and are still unable to access the property, please contact us within 24 hours of the check-in date stated on your booking confirmation.

You will then need to submit a claim form within 10 days of the start of the holiday. Instructions for submitting the form are detailed on the document itself. Remember: to qualify for Payment Protection you must have paid online through our site.
